Luxury traditional stone farmhouse in Saddleworth

We liked the space, the quiet, and the comfort in this well-equipped property. The beds were perfect - I slept like a log - we loved the space in the downstairs, and I really liked the kitchen - the island in the middle is fantastic. Absolutely loved the coffee machine.

Back door gets a bit stiff in the cold, and I needed to clean the coffee machine's water tank when we arrived before using it, but these were both minor issues and I can't think of any other opportunities for improvement - it really was a great place to stay.

The location is beautiful, the house is a good size and good parking. I live local, was having house renovations, and moved in here with my husband, daughter, and our two sphynx cats whilst our house was being worked on. The house does have some really good positives. Unfortunately for us, the negatives outweigh the positives.

We had trouble with the hot water from day one, maybe we didn't know how to use the controls,, but when ringing the owner, he accused me of using 300 litres of water, I'd not even run the water, other than to see if i could take a shower. Unless the leaking tap in the kitchen is a problem, then I suggest you check for leaks. The owner had building items delivered to the house, and although he said mistake, the driver said he'd delivered yo that address before and had the address on the boxes of where we were staying. I'd left two luxury new products in the downstairs shower by accident, not bothered contacting me or responding 🤔 for me to collect. We had booked another week before our first stay, as we have staggered renovations to our house. However, we have decided we are stopping somewhere else now. Items that need addressing, leaking tap(needs a new washer), floorboard near the upstairs bathroom needs looking at, its sinking, leave instruction manual where it can be seen by guest, not hidden under books, the place needs a good thorough clean, felt dusty and leaving water in the coffee machine is not good, had I not been a Health and safety Inspector I wouldnt have known the risk with legionella. You need caution signs on the low beams, I dont normally leave a review if I have nothing nice to say, but i felt whilst staying there I was being monitored on how much water, heating, electricity I was using, all from your phone app as you told me whilst on the phone to you (I did find you quite rude), not a good feeling, although, I treated your house like I would my own, it certainly didnt feel like a home. Sorry to say, I won't be returning.

Large accomodation. Plenty of room for the gradchildren to play inside. Great kitchen.

It’s a beautiful high spec finished cottage in a stunning location. Comfy beds and perfect for our big family get together. The bean to cup coffee machine was a delight!! The speaker system is amazing for a cheeky boogie and we loved it!

The kitchen is under equipped with basics... No colander for example, and if you want to clean up, there is no sweeping brush or hoover. A tap handle was broken on arrival and coat hooks falling off the wall. The property was SO hot it was tropical and we couldn’t work out how to change it. Finally I don’t advise people to arrive in the dark as it is tricky to find... Yet these small things would not be enough to put me off booking again! A superb property

Fabulous.. we loved everything, the house was perfect for a girly weekend of relaxing and gossip with a bit of fresh air and beautiful walks. Rooms were spotless and the beds comfy. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything you could need. Will definitely return!!!!

The property is close to 3 local pubs that serve great food & great walking tracks in the area. It was only 10 mins drive from dovestones reservoir in greenfield which is very scenic & a beautiful walk, and not far from all the other reservoirs in the area which have beautiful walks.

The property was old & renovated to a good standard so it’s kept its charm. It’s in a quiet location & but easy to get to all the villages in the area. We had 3 weeks there & enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

The location is beautiful and the house is absolutely stunning! it had such a warm homely feel to it. The owner is very pleasant and was happy to answer any questions.
