Good location and quirky design
Unfortunately, this stay was below expectations. Generally, the room was spacious and nice on the surface, but small things made it extremely uncomfortable. The lighting is very dim by design, but it was almost difficult to see at night. It would be great to add more lighting.
The bathroom has a glass door with a gap at the bottom - goodbye privacy, and it creaked everytime when opening.
The bed extremely soft and uncomfortable. The ventilation made constant noise through the night. Very few amenities in the room for the price point.

- Location
- Comfortable bed
- Unfortunately the room smelled of sewage - I emailed the hotel & they were able to send someone who sprayed air freshener but the smell quickly returned. When I emailed the hotel a second time, I did not hear back from them.
- There is little to no soundproofing - I could hear every time the front doors were open or when there was someone in the hallway. This made it very difficult to sleep as the doors were slamming every 5 minutes starting at 6am.
- I never saw anyone at reception, even during the posted hours, which made it difficult to ask questions.
- Virtually no breakfast provided. There is a small fridge with yogurt pots and some fruit. There is a coffee machine but I had to empty the coffee grounds myself and reset it in order to use it.
- Very, very steep and narrow staircase in the main building. This made carrying a large suitcase up & down difficult.

Very romantic room! Check in and check out was really easy. The atmosphere was really comfy and nice.

Position optimal, nice renewed old building
No staff at all, all automatic from check in to check out. Parking is not that easy, cleaning not good (dirty and dusty). Towels not clean, noisy bathroom. For 180/night you expect better service

The hotel itself was really nice, stylish, clean, and in a great location. However, I booked the suite mainly because of the bathtub shown in the photos, but the room I got didn’t have one.
The website says “bath or shower,” but the pictures are identical, which was misleading and honestly disappointing. I was really looking forward to that bath, so it did take away from the experience a bit.

Location, comfortable room and not far from the centre
The stairs were a bit awkward and not with much light at night. The virtual butler is a good idea but the app is great to navigate on a phone. Working out which switch turned on each light difficult. Doing everything virtually is a new experience, but it would be nice to see a human!

Excellent location in heart of Ghent but away from any noise of the centre. Lovely old building. Loved the room decor and tastefully done out. Got the room I expected from the booking (as not all room are the same). Bed really comfy! Check was straight forward with a code system (I think for days when reception of the restaurant is not open otherwise perhaps there is someone there to welcome but in our case not - and that didn't bother us). Fully recommend lovely property. And the little cereal, snacks and free coffee was kinda cute with a very small serve yourself corner for cereal and coffee.
The tap pressure made it so I thought the shower tap was broken but in fact it was extreme pressure that made the tap feel jammed. So if that happens to you give it a bit of force and will turn on! Other than that all fitting and fixtures are as shown in the photos and everything clean and in good condition.

The room was a good size, plenty of hot water for the shower and the location was excellent.
The breakfast was poor. Just rusks, cereal and yoghurt and a coffee machine that had run out of water. Paper bowls, paper plates and only wooden stir sticks with which to try eat cereal. No staff on the site to offer any help/service. A shame as the hotel was well appointed and located. But with no staff ever on site it felt more like an air b and b. On check out there was no-one to ask if we could leave our bags to pick up later whilst we did some sightseeing.

The self check in and out was easy
The breakfast but was a detail - and there is no elevator, so bringing up the suitcases was an issue

Walking distance from the center. Very stilysh room on the last floor. Possible parking on the street right in front of the door. Automated check in and check out system.
Very dark room due to lack of proper lighting (we had to dissassemble the abajour cover to get a bit more brightness). EXTREMELLY annoying home automation system (click to toggle function, very sensible and with a 2s delay at times). Bathroom has no door and its all in glass, which results in a stylish room but little to no privacy. Very challenging to carry luggage up the stairs due to 2 narrow circular staircases. Little amount of free wall sockets.

Loved the location. A short walk to many restaurants and sites in the old city. The self check in worked well and the host responded quickly to messages when I needed help. The room was a good size, although the ‘smart’ light switches were a challenge to make sense of.
The shower needs some work. It was stained around the lower walls and floor. The handheld shower head could do with a proper wall bracket on the wall too.

Excellent location, accommodation was atmospheric, cosy and the bed extremely comfortable.
Their attitude STINKS. Once they knew I was on my bicycle they became snooty and unobliging.
Clearly they regard themselves as “trez-chic,” and trade on PAST glories of having been (at least mentioned,) in one of the Michelin Guides. Whoopy-ruddy-do.
In summary, decent enough accommodation (certainly NOT luxurious,) but rude, patronising and absolutely NOT what I would expect from any organisation calling themselves a “boutique hotel.”
In summary, they need to get over themselves, wake up, smell the coffee and treat all customers with common courtesy.
Shall not be returning and will advise all friends and acquaintances to go elsewhere should they find themselves in Ghent.

The location is good. It’s the only good thing about the property
0 services, very far from a 4 stars hotel. The room smelled like sewage on our arrival. The smell would go and come back every time we left the room. Disgusting. No one to clean the room or talk to. The pillows were uncomfortable. Old. All of it was a huge disappointment

The style and vibe
7.0 / 10.0
This is indeed a very centrally located, old-style "vintage" decorated hotel: all as You may find on a provided pictures. Wood ceiling, old-tiles floor and all this 17-18 century surrounging feeling.
What was really disgusting and embaraccing is a Toilet (WC) with no partiton at all. So, basically, if You are with Your beloved girlfriend staying together and then - in the middle of the night, You need to make "heavy things" - this is all happening just in front of Your Bed. It reminds be Cell in a Prison: there is also WC "in the middle of the room" with no partitions.
My mentality truly dont understand where was the problem at a minimum to hang a curtain or make a Glass Door. If this is called a "French style" then this is a separate "Cosmos" which I dont appreciate.
Next time, I will be more carefully reviewing bathroom picture to avoid this.
TV didnt show any channels from Set-top-box but luckily I came with my PC and HDMI cable, so I watched my own subscription and movoes.

The wine restaurant located on the property is very nice. Checking in is a breeze because it is done by the customer.
The stairs were very old and small so extreme caution must be taken.

Comfortable large room.
The bathroom in the room was not private.
There was no flexibility in the number of courses on the menu.
The breakfast was not value for money I. The bar

Interior design of room , the choice of bathroom equipments and the size of room.
Lack of services, wrong information of parking place and most importantly the room is untidy and dirty when we arrived even though we were late check-in.
Boutique hotel supposed give the guest more exclusive and convenient feelings as privileged accommodation.

The design is gorgeous and decorated with very good taste from the outside to the inside. It fels like home and in an exquisite boutique hotel at the same time
The inside of the bathroom was visible from the bedroom in our room

Excellent location, on street parking or car park 2 minutes walk away. Very quiet with a lovely clean bedroom, very cosy with a comfy bed. Loved the automatic check in!
Wasn’t much of a problem but the cold water in the bathroom was coming out warm.

Amazing location, beautiful building and the room itself, comfortable and perfect for our one night trip to Ghent. Very easy check-in and check-out process. Breakfast amenities for a quick snack were a nice touch :)
A slight inconvenience was the transparent door in the bathroom which may be difficult if you're not traveling alone due to the lack of privacy.

The staff, location, cleanses and decoration were just perfect! the bed is great as well. the facilities are pretty new.

We really liked the hotel, especially the interior is very nice. Also the location is perfect, lots of nice breakfast places and bars in the area. A little bit out of centre but a nice walk to other parts of Ghent.
We didn't really understand why there wasn't a door between the bathroom and the bedroom itself. For us it didn't matter much but I can imagine it is not great for everyone. Other than that we could hear music from the restaurant from the outside speakers until late, and after the restaurant closed we could hear people cleaning up and so on after midnight.

Stylish, comfortable and clean, very convenient for exploring Pattershol. Quiet and pleasant area, bed was huge and really comfortable. Bonus chaise longue in the room, and wooden and stone beautiful features
Nothing! You do get the occasional tram going past, which you can hear (and feel!) But this didn't disturb us

The location was ideal: close enough to the city centre, while being quiet at night allowing a good night's sleep.
The staff were most helpful and polite.
The room was comfortable and compact.
The breakfast included a choice of breakfast cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Coffee was available with whitener etc
It would have been nice to have had fresh milk available for the cereal and coffee

Location good and room comfortable
Breakfast very basic and no milk for cereal

Nice design, good restaurant, in the morning you have a free coffee corner in lobby.
No door to the toilet in the room, so you need to be very close with your roommate.
The parking on the street limited to 3 hours for only 11 euro.

Really liked the self check-in / check out, a bit strange in the beginning, but it went so smoothly you wonder why no other hotels do this.
The rooms were very cosy.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on Tuesday, so I will definitely come back on another day.
There weren't too many channels on the TV, but with so much to do in the neighbourhood and the free wifi, that wasn't an issue.

The property was beautifully decorated, very clean and the bed in the room I stayed in was so comfortable. The location is great as many shops and attractions are within walking distance, and the tram is also just down the street. Would definitely recommend :)
