Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Our recent stay at a Vacasa property was unfortunately impacted by an ongoing issue with the air conditioning and Wi-Fi. When we arrived, the home was 78 degrees inside and the AC would not turn on. We also couldn’t access the internet. We reached out immediately, and to Vacasa’s credit, someone came by and helped us temporarily resolve the Wi-Fi and AC issues.However, by the time we returned that evening, the air conditioning had failed again, and the home was in the 80s. I followed up again and was sent instructions the next morning to check the breaker—my husband did, and the AC briefly came back on, but again, it didn’t last. Eventually, the issue was resolved, but not before we spent a significant part of our stay uncomfortable and dealing with a key amenity not working properly.What’s more disappointing is that I was told we would be provided a compensation package due to the inconvenience—but I never heard back. That follow-through matters.We appreciated the staff’s responsiveness in the moment, but the experience overall was frustrating and not what we expected when booking through Vacasa.
