Takuto Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi

It was a good location. Central 2 a lot of things.

Some of the things like the chairs were in disrepair. Some of the walls need to be scrubbed as well. Also, it would’ve been nice to have some lamps so that individuals could go to sleep while others are still doing their work.

The room is spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, providing everything we need for a pleasant stay. The separate wet and dry toilet design makes it especially convenient for four people to use without hassle.

The toilet is a bit smelly.

Location very close to shopping and excellent restos/cafes/dining and shopping areas. Easy walk or taxi rides to main stations like osaka/namba. Short walk 12mins to Dotonbori and just next to Shinsaibashi covered shopping lane. Staff very helpful.

Overall not much to dislike but had to move the bed to look for a earring that fell and I realized the carpeted areas under beds had a lot of dust/some trash left by former guests so should be vacuumed, and non-carpeted areas should be mopped thoroughly.

Modified Family Rooms. 2nd Floor Rooms. This is our 2nd stay after in 3 years During our first stay we had adjoining rooms as a family room. Each with 3 single beds. They have since modified the rooms with bunk beds to sleep up to 6 people in one room. Nothing wrong with that but the modification seem to have been a budget fix. Awkward power point locations on the lower bunk beds means that you would have to leave your phone charging on the bed because the points are in the middle. The room size is too small to accommodate 4 people comfortably, let alone 6 people. The room given to us had no day curtains. Which meant we had to keep the curtains closed at all times for privacy from the building across the street as we were on the 2nd floor. The reception area and "lobby" area is located on the 2nd floor. And if you are given a room on the 2nd floor, it means that you open your room door diagonally opposite the lift and you will be in full view of other guests in the "lobby" or guests waiting for the lift every time you opened the door. This really annoyed me. For the price, much better accommodation are available in the area, albeit without 'family' rooms.
