Since I have joined Booking.com almost 10 years ago, I have only written one bad review ever. Only one. And I have lived and travelled in more than 50 countries over 4 continents. My travelling level on Booking.com is Genius Level 3. This is my 2nd bad review ever and well deserved by the host, Mrs. Anna. I am a very kind person, but in this case, the host's behaviour has been below any norm. I travelled to Paris for work, for a conference and just needed a place where to sleep, as I was away at the conference each day. There are several things that bothered me about this stay: 1) When I booked Anna's place, I didn't notice she asks for 300 euros deposit upon arrival (on top of what you already pay). I tried to ask her if she can cancel so I can book another place, or lower the deposit, but she refused, even when Booking.com called her for me. I would like to kindly thank Booking.com for their assistance on this, who did their best. Their customer service is very friendly and helpful. 2) The place is very far from the city center, it's a small room in the basement of a house where Mrs. Anna and her family lives. 3) The place is cold, and the heater in the room doesn't work well. I was freezing at night time when coming back, there was no other way than to just sit under the covers. It is very cold. 4) The bed is short. I am a woman and my feet were coming out of the bed, so you can imagine the length of the bed is really low. 5) No tea / coffee available in the room, although I paid as much as for a hotel room in Paris. 6) Upon check-out the host, Mrs. Anna kept 50 euros out of the 300 euros deposit fee, on top of everything I had paid for the 5 nights of stay, claiming that I woke her too early in the morning. The check out is between 7 am - 11 am, and I had an early flight so I wrote to her the night before if it is possible to check out early, like 6 - 6:30 am. She kept 50 euros, which is the equivalent of almost 1 full day of stay.

Everything was wonderful. Thanks a lot. We will definitely come again.

A headrest for the bed would be nice. And the wall won't get dirty.
