The location itself is actually fairly good, with 10 min walk from the station. Near the beach and near some good restaurants(which Tomoko-san helped me reserve), which is what I would guess most people going here for is doing.
The building itself is rather old and not that good. The rooms themselves are ok and have some interesting paintings in it, but the futons are rather uncomfortable.
Tomoko is very friendly and does her best to keep the guest comfortable.
Just be aware that it's a hostel, which is not as comfortable as hotel and lacks the privacy of a hotel. But it's also a good place to interact with other travellers and the locals. It's a good place to experience Japan's countryside with all its pros and cons.
