Port Royal 1 bedroom - TENESOL RENTALS

The location is high up, but view is amazing from a spacious balcony, if you don't fancy the walk back, a taxi from the beachfront is 5 euros. We had a late flight home and owner let us stay later, what a life saver, would definitely return

The location of the apartment is great for our favourite restaurants. The washing machine was great and very quiet. Good selection of bath towels. On the Friday afternoon of our arrival we had to phone the property agent almost immediately because the toilet would not flush. He returned swiftly to fix it.

The communication with the property company was difficult and confusing. We booked through booking.com but the property management company kept sending emails that showed we hadn't paid, when we had paid. The collection of the keys was very last minute and not at the time we had originally booked. The keys didn't lock the front door, it was good that the safety gate locked. On arrival (Friday) we were told the WiFi code, which wasn't the right one, but the WiFi wasn't working. Contacted the property company and they had it working by late Monday afternoon. Information inconsistent between booking confirmation emails and apartment info. The terrace was cluttered with old furniture, which was lucky because the big, black, glass table was a heat magnet and the legs weren't fixed properly. The grey mesh chairs showed signs of age with frayed edges and didn't look safe to sit on. We used the white chairs and the old white Formica table. It wasn't a relaxing space. The shower drain was dirty and full of hair. The shower head was full of scale, so I cleaned that too. No plug in the bathroom sink. The galley kitchen area is small (we have stayed at 4 different Port Royale apartments so know the size well). To help make space we put the microwave in an empty cupboard to give some worktop space. The large fridge/freezer is great but is squeezed into an alcove that is tight so be careful to shut the fridge/freezer doors properly because they get stuck on the alcove framework. It could be sorted by the feet being leveled correctly on the appliance. Limited crockery and cutlery. Only a few plates and bowls. No matching wine glasses so we used tumblers instead. The bedroom was a disappointment. Having stayed in other studio apartments at Port Royale we were interested to see what the one bedroom, fitted in a studio layout, would be. Sadly it was very disappointing. The oversized fitted wardrobe was imposing and really not very useful.
