Other than the problems mentioned, our stay was peaceful and enjoyable.
Insel Poel is very enticing. Having said that, it is very hard to find anything because of miserable signage and the fact that the island inhabitants generally do not want you to feel at home there. Haus Sonnenschein-Heimathafen itself is in a village which is hard to find and has nothing to offer sojourners except fields and lovely birds. The steep stairway getting to the apartment is not mentioned in the description. No warning for those with disabilities! Finding the office to pick up the key and finding the actual flat is not considered to be a part of the rental company's task. Nor is offering support when you find a huge puddle of water around the refridgerator. "Clean it up yourself and call us tomorrow if it re-occurs," was the answer to my call for help. Lots of attention was devoted to renovating the flat, but running the facility and welcoming the guests is done in an amateur fashion. No one even asks how your stay was or says thank you or 'come back soon' upon turning in the key. Very inconvenient and time-consuming. Whatever happened to giving clear directions or being helpful even during Corona times?
Obviously the PAS rental does not prioritize convenience. They flood your email account with order forms for ordering food and drink delivery but fail to warn you adequately that there are no bed linens or towels (read the fine print!), but not even one dish towel. There was one third of a roll of toilet paper for three people for three days and no spare provided. No shampoo or hand soap dispenser! Come on people - just write " NO amenities provided" on your page. Also, the local phone and internet coverage is not a given. It is quite problematic.
