Wajonata Sumba

Eine tolle Erfahrung hier zu übernachten. Wir hatten das offene Bungalow und es hat sich gelohnt. Es ist sauber und toll eingerichtet. Frühstück ist sehr gut. Gastgeber freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Rauschen des Ozeans. Toller Strand direkt vor der Anlage. Anfahrt von Waigapu ist super. Straße ist in einem sehr guten Zustand und die Landschaft sehr schön. Am Rückweg sind wir durch die Berge gefahren, was ein einmaliges Erlebnis war.

Anfahrt ist schwierig, da von der Straße viele kleine Wege abzweigen und es keine Wegweiser gibt. Strand ist etwas vermüllt von Meeresplastik. Ich hab angefangen etwas aufzuräumen und schon Mal die beiden Eingangsbereich zum Strand gesäubert. Am Bungalow steht ein großer Eimer. Wenn jeder Gast diesen einmal voll macht, dann ist der Strand in Kürze sauber und die Welt ein Stück besser.

Shirley. Seclusion. Serenity. It was a home away from home for our family of 5 (3 boys 5,7 & 9). Authentic Sumba experience living among the fishing communities that live along the coast. Did not see one other tourist the entire week we were there and we walked for kms in each direction. Heldeem was our excellent on site tour guide (10 year old who spoke little/no English) and he joined in with the boys teaching them how to catch crabs and point out different wildlife. Thank you Wajonata for everything.

I wouldn’t say “What I don’t like”. The fact that this place exists and runs is amazing and Marcel and Shirley should be proud of what they have. The only thing to improve would be the power outages. In our situation , world schooling the boys , we rely on WIFI to be consistent for periods of time and then air con on the hot days. It didn’t cause us any exasperation but as I said it is an area to improve.

Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to assist us, including providing extra lighting when requested. Beautiful natural surroundings, with the beach only a short walk away. A unique outdoor experience that allows guests to feel close to nature. The gazebos with solid walls were comfortable and included air conditioning and a fan. Little crabs running around my bathroom. Quite entertaining.

The location was difficult to find, especially at night. The open-air gazebo had no solid walls, which may not be suitable for everyone. No hot water, and the water tasted slightly salty. An animal, possibly a dog or cat, entered our gazebo at night, went through our belongings, and bit into some of our food.
