Top Cottage, Oddington

Loved the location in a small village and the house and garden were great.

We found it a very difficult house to find! It is only a small village but the sign on the cottage was not clear, in the same stone as the house itself and partially obscured by plants. It would have been helpful to have had clear signs on the two gates as the entrance to the property was via these into the garden area. I have not checked the house details again yet but we had not realised in advance that the small single room was up a further flight of stairs to the other bedrooms. Maybe it did say that and I missed it. We had an 86 year old with us and she would have had that room! As it was the sofa's were very comfortable and we made up a bed there instead for her and she only had to go upstairs for a shower. The stairs were steep for her but not a great surprise in an old building and as she only had to do one set it was manageable. Downstairs toilet was a great help! Obtaining the keys was a bit of a challenge but if we had found the house sooner the key lock box might have not proved such an issue! Despite these two issues the place was great and we would go back again. Very spacious and all very clean.

Cosy and well kept, excellent facilities, perfect for a lovely winter getaway. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

One of the bedrooms is via another of the bedrooms, just worth knowing before booking! Also could do with a sign outside to help with finding the place.
