About this house rental

This immaculate, two-bedroom, two-bath cabin is on 2.5 acres in the Grandview Peaks gated community. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, giving you the utmost privacy and quiet.

Community amenities include a beautiful lake with a beach area and fishing dock, a waterfall, and hiking trails for your enjoyment. Bring the kids' bikes - being the only house on the cul-de-sac allows them to ride bikes without the worry of traffic. The spacious backyard longs for kickball and lawn dart games! In the evenings, you can make s'mores at the fire pit. The covered front porch is the best spot for an early morning cup of coffee, and the large deck with an electric grill is great for meals eaten outside (there is seating for six on the deck).

Just 20 minutes away, Marion, NC, hosts fairs and festivals from April to December. It's only 30 minutes to Lake James State Park and just an hour drive to Biltmore in Asheville, Grandfather Mountain State Park, Mount Mitchell, or Pisgah Forest. Closer activities include Catawba Falls and the Thermal Belt Rail Trail (a paved, 13.5-mile walking/biking trail). Both are within 30 minutes. A large variety of activities await your family on a mountain vacation.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and is en suite. The first-floor bedroom has two twin beds. The upstairs open loft has a twin-sized trundle bed.

There is a pack-n-play, baby gate, and high chair for families traveling with a baby.

The kitchen is fully stocked - it is ready for you to make your favorite family meals, bake a birthday cake, or make a crockpot of stew on a cold Saturday.

The gas fireplace in the living room makes this cabin a comfy getaway! The cabin has central air and heat for your comfort.

We had a great time here, the host was amazing, the place is beautiful. The location couldn't be better; inside you have everything you need to cook, play games, watch tv, or roast marshmallows in the back yard. This place is truly amazing and the location is priceless.

The cabin was easy to access in a gated community. Tucked away with only trees surrounding made for the cozy cabin vibe we hoped for. It was clean and tidy with everything you need clearly labeled for convenience (absolutely love this!). Marie did an excellent job and listing things to do and where to eat in the area. We ate at J. Hartman's (dinner) and Heifer's (breakfast) and highly recommend both. Marion main street is charming with great shops. We recommend stopping into Refinery 13 for a pint! Nearly everything about our stay was great but the beds could use a mattress upgrade for a more comfortable night's sleep. Overall, we would recommend staying at Marie's place if you're looking for a mountain getaway!

This rental was absolutely perfect. It is probably the CLEANEST renal we have EVER stayed at! The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and even had spices we forgot to bring. We could tell the owners put a lot of thought into this home. There were conversation-starter cards that we did with our kids every night at dinner—and they loved it. There was even a cozy robe, and my kids felt so fancy getting into it after their showers.Just a heads up for winter guests—there’s no central heating system, but the mini-splits in the bedrooms and the gas fireplace kept the house warm and comfortable since it’s a small space. We also loved that it was the only house at the top of the hill, giving us a secluded and private feel. We took a nature walk behind the house and the kids really enjoyed exploring. There were chargers everywhere you’d naturally want to plug in a phone, which was super convenient. The only thing worth noting is that the beds were pretty noisy and very firm. I’m used to softer mattresses, but I know some people prefer firm, so that’s just personal preference. There were plenty of blankets and extra pillows, and the pillows themselves were very comfortable.Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend this home.
