Narrow motor access to the house. Public parking 100 m extra. Shop 250 m, supermarket 250 m, restaurant 200 m, bakery 200 m, café, bus stop, railway station "Brienz West" 600 m, swimming bay 600 m, public bathing area 2 km. Walking paths from the house 50 m, cycle lane, mountain railway 1 km, skisport facilities 14 km, ski bus stop 200 m. Nearby attractions: Brienzer Rothorn, Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg. What a great place to stay in Brienz! The house is on an absolutely beautiful street with great views of the surrounding mountains. The house was extremely clean and really comfortable. The low ceilings remind you that you are in an historic place. Our boys loved swimming in the lake each day and the house is only steps from the water.

This is a beautiful and spotlessly clean chalet, very well equipped and close to the lake, shops etc. Amazing walks up towards the mountains too. The town of Brienz has lots to do.
Gabriele was so helpful with everything form helping us sort parking tickets and advising us where to go/do.
The only slight negative is that our 6'3'' son couldn't stand up in the kitchen due to low ceiling height so beware if you are very tall. The other rooms had sufficient ceiling height but low door heights.

Loved Brienz, and yho home is on the heart of it. Be aware that of you are tall (6ft plus) you may not be comfortable living here. Our family referred to it as our "dollhouse", and a few doorways even I, at 5ft10in , needed to duck through.

Our family of 5 (aged 18+) had a wonderful stay in Chalet Esther, Brienz. The weather was perfect while we were there, so we spent most of our time exploring the whole area. But, we always came home for dinner together. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook (no microwave), and grocery stores were easy to get to.
We are a tall family, so be aware that anyone 6 feet tall or more will be at risk of hitting their head often. We lovingly referred to Chalet Esther as our dollhouse as low ceilings and doorways made the space feel tiny.
But, the location was worth it! Close to the sea, the 2 train stations, and food shops, on a traditional and beautiful street. No washing machine, do plan accordingly.
