About this house rental

Located in a pretty and peaceful village on the top of a hill in the Chianti area which overlooks a landscape of olive trees, vineyards and woods. The village is located in a WWF protected area "Bosco di Sant'Agnese" where the cypresses grow spontaneously.
The structural characteristics of a typical country has been scrupulously respected, creating a typical and unique atmosphere of the past. The oldest part is the 1100 AD tower. c.
There are two large parking lots in the village and there are no cars on the small streets, except for loading / unloading luggage.
Available to guests and shared with the other villagers, we have a completely enclosed swimming pool (12x6m maximum depth. 1.50m) and a tennis court (fenced) in synthetic grass.

It's a great home base to start exploring the region. Two wineries are very close by, and Florence is an easy drive away. The traditional way the house is built keeps it nice and cold during the day. We loved it!

A very special time it was. Veronica made it perfect. She left us set with breakfeast and was amazing with helping us locate the apartment. Despite our own not having prepared properly, Veronica saved us.

Lovely Location

A lovely location and friendly hosts who were willing to make the extra effort. It is a small property but with everything you need. It is not the property in the photographs but close to that property. It is a holiday complex with mainly non Italian guests but authentic Castellina in Chianti is a 15 min drive away.

Great vacation in an ancient and quiet environment

My family and I enjoyed the stay at the former farmhouse. It is very quiet to which you have to take a two-mile dusty two-track from the windy Tuscan mountain road. But the view and the quietness really make up for it. Rarely do we have the opportunity to see that many stars on the night sky since there are too many city lights around us. The proximity to Poggibonsi with a larger supermarket and Castellina in Chianti with good restaurants and smaller markets is also very convenient. And you are close to both Florence and Siena as well as the tourist destinations of San Giminiano and Volterra. All of those can be reached within an hour or less driving time while being away from the hustle, smell and volume of Italian cities. Don't forget to visit some of the great wineries in the Chianti area which are very close to the property - it is surrounded by vineyards! And for food aficionados there is the famous butchery of Dario Cecchini in Panzano you will want to visit. He has some great Sushi di Chianti you may want to try and will sell you some of the famous bistecca Fiorentina (the Tuscan Porterhouse) with two days pre-ordering. For pizza lovers the two restaurants in the pedestrian zone of Castellina in Chianti provide you with outstanding pies the Italian way. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay in the remodeled farmhouse. Please be aware that during the summer months it does get quite hot in Tuscany. We encountered days of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit and there is no air conditioning in the farmhouse! Massimiliano and Veronica took care of us and helped us when we forgot to take the key to the main door which can only be opened with a key from the outside. Thanks a lot for the hospitality!

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette région magnifique pour les vacances de Toussaints. La maison est idéalement placée à 45 minutes de Florence, de Sienne, de Volterra de San Giminiano... Le logement est très bien équipé, spacieux, idéal pour une famille de 4. Excellent rapport qualité prix. Attention ce logement est éloigné des commerces (compter une bonne vingtaine de minutes pour aller à la Coop de Poggibonsi

Idyllisches gelegenes Ferienhaus als Teil einer ehemals bäuerlichen Siedlung auf einer Hügelkuppe zwischen Wald, Wein und Ölbäumen, Anfahrt über ca. 2 km Fahrweg mit 1-2 steileren Abschnitten/ Kehren, entweder 1. Gang oder mit "Schwung", das Reihenmittelhaus aus Naturbruchstein ist ausreichend groß für eine 4-köpfige Familie (ca. 80 m²), innen typische Steinböden, in Parterre Wohn-/ Essraum mit Küchenzeile und Waschmaschine, Kühl-/ Gefrier-Kombination, 4-Flammen-Gasherd, Dunstabzugshaube, genügend Besteck, Geschirr und Kochutensilien sind vorhanden, teils jedoch etwas zusammengewürfelt, zwei Sofas, Deckenfluter/ Leseleuchte, Kaminofen, großer Gemeinschaftpool 10x20 m (Badekappenpflicht) mit Dusche, daneben ein gepflegter Kunstrasen-Tennisplatz, hinten raus Terrasse mit Gartenmöbeln, Sonnenschirm und Liegen und schönem Blick auf die Hügel des Chianti, in der ersten Etage zwei Schlafzimmer jeweils mit Kleiderschrank, Nachttischen mit Leuchten, kleines Badezimmer mit Dusche, Bidet, WC und Waschbecken sowie kleinem Spiegelschrank, Heizung und Air Condition haben wir nicht benötigt. Mobilfunkempfang schwankt stark auf dem Gelände, auf der Terrase mäßig, im Haus ist er echt schlecht und somit auch die zur Verfügung gestellte W-LAN-Box nur bedingt nutzbar. Das Objekt war wahrscheinlich ursprünglich ein Lagerraum und hat daher relativ wenig Fenster, in jedem Schlafzimmer eines, unten die Terrassentüre, allesamt mit Insektengitter, wodurch sich das Haus jedoch tagsüber relativ wenig aufheizt und durch querlüften auch im Sommer erträglich temperieren lässt. Das Objekt ist eindeutig "funktional" und nicht "stylisch", wir haben uns hier 14 Tage sehr wohl gefühlt!

Wir hatten 3 Nächte diese Ferienwohnung gemietet und ich muss sagen gott sei dank nicht länger. Am Anreisetag mussten wir 50 min vor dem „Dorf“ in der Hitze verweilen, da die Tante vom Vermieter gerade in der Stadt Essen war (13:45) obwohl wir geschrieben hatten, dass wir am frühen Nachmittag anreisen würden. Wir hatten sogar das ok vom Vermieter, dass dies kein Problem sei und er es seiner Tante (die ausschließlich italienisch und KEIN Wort Englisch kann) ausrichtet, da er selbst gerade auf Urlaub sei. Nach dem erschwerten Check in mussten wir feststellen, dass das W-lan und die von oben bis unten geklebte Klima nicht funktionierte, daraufhin kontaktierten wir via VRBO den Vermieter, der uns mitteilte, dass die Klimaanlage richtig positioniert sein muss, dass sie überhaupt funktioniert... Nach einer schlaflosen hitzigen Nacht bei gefühlt 30 Grad in den Schlafzimmern (sind im oberen Stock, daher auch Warmluftaufstieg) hatten wir es dann endlich geschafft nach 1 h probieren, die Klima in Gang zu bringen. Am Pool ist es Pflicht eine Badehaube zu tragen, ansonsten darf man gar nicht rein. Wäre es erwähnt gewesen, dass bei der Anfahrt zur Ferienwohnung eine Schotterstraße ca. 2,5 km bergauf kommt ( 1.Gang nötig) hätten wir uns sicher nicht für dieses Objekt entschieden. Da muss man Angst um sein Auto haben... würde jeden davon abraten, der ein neues Auto hat... Steine werden heraufgeschleudert... Dreck (Staub) in jedem Winkel vom Auto... brauchten eine Komplettreinigung 🙈� Nun zu ein paar positiven Merkmalen dieser Wohnung: -superschöne Aussicht von der Terrasse aus, wo man einen Tisch mit 4 Stühlen vorfindet -sehr nette gepflegte Anlage mit typisch toskanischen Flair -Pool und Tennisplatz vorhanden

In un contesto molto tipico e suggestivo, il borgo è veramente accogliente e ben ristrutturato. L'appartamento confortevole e completo, si trova vicino alla splendida piscina e campo da tennis. Ottima posizione per raggiungere tutte le varie località del Chianti. La signora Carla è una vera risorsa, disponibile per qualsiasi necessità. Il relax è garantito, a riparo di qualsiasi rumore cittadino.

Fantastische ervaring mede dankzij Carla. Na een welkom ontvangst in een prima appartement zijn we de dag erna middels een wandeling met Carla de omgeving gaan verkennen. Betoverend! Ook hebben we goede tips gekregen waar te eten zoals de toscanen het zelf doen en de dorpjes in de omgeving waarbij je niet over de koppen van toeristen hoeft te lopen. Het appartement staat een een rustige omgeving met een schitterend uitzicht aan beide zijdes. Het zwembad is prima voor een verkoelende duik en als tennis liefhebbers konden we ook prima uit de voeten op de tennisbaan.

Wir (eine 4-koepfige Familie) haben unseren Urlaub rundum genossen. Die Betreuung durch Carla war wunderbar, sie hat uns sehr gute Tipps gegeben und hat sich in allem sehr bemueht. Der Pool brachte die notwendige Abkuehlung. Das Ferienhaus ist wunderschoen gelegen mit sehr schoenem Blick.
