URUGANO VIRUNGA PALACE

We stayed four nights at Virunga Palace, and honestly, we could hardly find enough words to describe how wonderful and comfortable our stay was. The hotel is only about a 20-minute walk from the center of Musanze, which makes it extremely convenient while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and comfortable, and the patio is absolutely beautiful, a lovely place to slow down and relax after a day of exploring. The whole team goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible, but Sarah and Dan made our stay truly special. They took wonderful care of us and were also incredibly helpful with organizing the details of our days, always generous with their advice, and, above all, genuinely warm and welcoming. The food was excellent, and breakfast was prepared fresh and served according to our schedule. Whether we needed to leave as early as 6 a.m. to make it in time for a volcano hike or a gorilla trek, or wanted to sleep in and have breakfast around 9:30 a.m., Sarah and Dan happily adapted to our plans. Sarah and Dan, if you are reading this: murakoze cyane! Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

The staff was welcoming and attentive. The omelet for breakfast and pasta for dinner was delicious. We enjoyed the common areas for conversation and writing. There was also a small balcony/porch which was nice.

This feedback is for general travel awareness. The hotel is on a dirt road which can confuse people. This is not the hotel's fault/responsibility but good for other travelers to know. There is a sign on the main paved road but there is no corner or curb cutout to indicate you can turn onto the sidewalk and onto the dirt road.

The staff were exceptional and very attentive to our needs. Breakfast was also a plus.

The road leading to the accomodation was treaky.

The place was very clean. The staff kind. There was a hairdryer😀

We were not that enthousiastic. The room was very clean which was nice but we looked from our room against a wall from stone. We couldn t close the bathroomdoor and makes a lot of noise. In the morning there was no butter no marmelade.
