La Bastide des Roses is a beautiful holiday home with shared pool in Bastide sur L'Hers (Midi-Pyrénees). The holiday home is in the middle of the romantic village of Bastide sur L'Hers, where you can stroll in the winding authentic alleys under the century-old plane trees next to the trout river: the L'Hers. During summer, lively village festivals take place here every Thursday evening with good food, dancing and music!
At the holiday home La Bastide des Roses, you will find complete relaxation. The holiday home is a beautiful 17th-century village house with enormous charm and a nostalgic atmosphere. A perfect balance was found between new and authentic interior elements. All bedrooms have a private terrace. The house consists of a ground floor and an upper floor accessible via an external staircase. In fact, this house is also ideal for 2 families, as there is a living room and kitchen on both the ground floor and the first floor. The house is always rented as a whole. This authentic holiday home does not require air conditioning. In this region, the evenings cool down pleasantly for a good night's sleep.
The garden is particularly cosy with lots of herbs and plants. There is a barbecue, but also an egg-cooker in which you can prepare delicious dishes. At night it is very atmospheric and romantic because of the illuminated garden and swimming pool.
The alley in which the house is located is part of a route to Santiago de Compostella.
House linen is provided: sheets, towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, table linen and a bathrobe per person.
At la Bastide sur L'Hers, there is something for everyone. Plenty of varied activities nearby but also plenty of rest and relaxation. Simply the ideal holiday home with shared pool.
The Cathar castles with their mystical surroundings are also well worth a visit. At 40 minutes you are in the village of Bram and can rent a boat and take a beautiful nature trip on the Canal du Midi.
For those who prefer something more adventurous, you can also go kayaking and rafting nearby. Its beautiful location on the Voie Vert makes it a true paradise for hikers, cyclists and horse riders. An hour's drive takes you to high mountains such as Ax les Thermes, Andorra and historic cities such as Carcassone, Toulouse and Perpignan. Excellent for day trips.
Sports tip: House is on mountain bike route and close to a tennis court. There is also another great cycling route : An old railway track was renovated into a cycle path (Voie vert).

La Bastide des Roses is a really lovely house, lovingly restored by Mia the host, who was there to welcome us and show us around. The layout is over two levels with two staircases and the rooms were great for us as a family with teenagers as the three rooms were quite separate, each with their own bathroom. The pool is very nice, well kept and we had it all to ourselves.The week we stayed was the village's annual 'fete' and there was music / DJ very late (not advertised), so we found it hard to sleep before 2 / 3am for a couple of the nights.We went to the Lac de Montbel a few times, more on the Leran side which has a beach and good restaurant. We also visited Mirepoix for the market, which was great and walked to the castle at Roquefixade.

We had such a lovely holiday and hope to return.
Mia was very helpful throughout the booking process and responds quickly to queries. The cottage is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with several areas to relax. It is all on the first floor with steep stairs so would be difficult for someone who is less mobile. The second bedroom is slightly separate across a courtyard - perfect for our son to have some privacy.
Garden is pretty, with different seating areas - we enjoyed using the vegetables & herbs for supper. Gorgeous pool which is shared with 3 families. There is a friendly local bar that provides snacks and two small local shops. No restaurant but there are plans to establish one. There is a helpful local housekeeper to welcome you and respond if there are local problems - we had a minor issue and she came within an hour to help.
Only minor suggestions are to provide kitchen scissors and a brush / dustpan to enable residents to keep it tidy.
