Marris Cottage

- Peaceful, wonderfully quiet location - Spotlessly clean - Extremely well-equipped, especially the kitchen (we cooked recipe box meals with no problem) - Very private (not overlooked by others, no shared facilities) - Fantastic views overlooking the Lincolnshire Wolds - Great dog walks directly from the cottage - Cottage is well maintained but has a very traditional, unspoilt character (no bland grey rooms here!) - Owner kindly let us top up our electric vehicle - Jar of dog biscuits to go with Lincolnshire Plum Loaf, butter and milk on arrival - Also provided were tea bags, coffee, sugar, olive oil, kitchen rolls (with spares), toilet rolls (with spares), washing powder, washing up liquid ... - Relaxing, dog-secure front garden, perfect for sitting or eating outside; deckchairs also provided for dozing - Barbeque and original range available for outdoor eating and cosy indoor fire - Efficient heating system - Massive bath sheet towels

- Bit of a mix-up before arrival so we had to chase the owners for the access code - TV is a very cheap no-brand smart TV, so extremely slow, crashed repeatedly; definitely would be better replacing with a proper brand TV (even second hand!) - Internet is slow (max 2Mbps) and patchy due to using an old satellite/microwave-based system, so our streaming often buffered or crashed completely. Recommend moving to StarLink instead.

If you want to be away from everything and take in the Lincolnshire Wolds this is the place. The cottage is fully equipped and the welcome pack was a nice surprise.

Our recent stay at Marris Cottage was truly delightful. The property combines traditional charm with modern comfort, creating an inviting and relaxing atmosphere from the moment of arrival. The cottage was immaculately clean, well-furnished, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.The hosts literature was welcoming and attentive, offering helpful information about the surrounding area while ensuring privacy and a smooth experience throughout. The location is ideal—peaceful and scenic, yet conveniently close to local amenities and points of interest.I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail, from the quality of the linens and furnishings to the beautifully maintained garden area. It’s evident that great care and pride go into maintaining both the cottage and the guest experience.In summary, Marris Cottage exceeded all our expectations. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a restful retreat with first-class standards and warm hospitality.

No dishwasher (despite booking.com/properties own literature stating otherwise. Poor quality television housed in a pine cupboard. Sound was tinny and menu's lagged.

A little bit off the beaten track. The cottage itself was lovely. The beds were comfortable and our hosts had kindly left us a bottle of wine which was very nice. Slight problem with working out washer/dryer but that was more due to the fact that I am a little short-sighted and had to bend at a slightly awkward angle to actually read the knobs. The mirror in the 2nd bathroom is set waaaay too high for anyone around 5ft like me. Lovely shower with plenty of hot water. All in all a very enjoyable stay,
