Fabulous! Amazing property. Very thoughtful host who was extremely accommodating with great facilities and little touches. The apartment is just beautiful. Very clean. We only stayed a night for a wedding but wish we could have stayed longer. (Cars are parked securely at the property.)

Excellent value for money
Excellent value for money, everything you need. Lovely big space. Clear instructions to access and markers road side to find in the dark. Comfortable bed, clean and as described.
On a busy road but the bedroom was so quiet
Only thing wasn't so keen on was the lights are all on sensors so they don't get left on ( which I completely understand and agree with) but we couldn't find any switches for the lounge area. Instructions possibly could be a bit clearer around the lights. But that wouldn't put us off staying again.

A great place for a stopover
We had a great stay - it was just one night ahead of continuing a trip further up north, but it was the perfect location not far off the A1. The property is kitted out beautifully and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the added touch of Netflix on the TV and then had a good night sleep.

A relaxed and comfortable home from home break
The privacy offered by the property was fabulous and although located by a fairly busy road it was exceptionally peaceful and had a lovely tranquil back garden with visiting rabbits and a peacock.
The location was perfect for getting between all the places and attractions that we wanted to visit.

A delightful property, we couldnt fault it.
Set in a lovely rural location, this was perfect for a pit stop for our drive down from Scotland. This property presents extrememly well, its is clean and well appropriated. It has everything we needed, inc wash machine. Easy to find, and with communication from Richard you find the property easy. The town of Retford is a short drive of 10 mins, where you can find a supermarket. We slept very well. We would book again.

Large , spotless self contained unit with some serious restrictions
The self contained unit was a converted multiple car garage and by far the largest (in area size) stay on our 5 week stay in England. It was very spacious and had everything needed to self cater. In fairness , it was spotless.
Well, I must have stayed in a different place to most of the other reviewers? The accommodation was difficult to find, photos provided by the hosts of the recessed entrance gates are not of much use when you are driving on a busy road doing 50 - 60 miles an hour. But thats minor. First thing you notice inside the unit ( foyer connects the 2 properties) is a very large lounge area with a rows of low wattage downlights in the ceiling and a single free standing floor lamp on. Next thing you notice is the lights switches to turn on the downlights were removed and replaced with a blank panel (see photo). I checked the welcome brochure and the first 2 pages were the usual instructions, then page after page of "Cost of living, energy crisis and covid material". It was also mentioned in the intructions that 3 lamps (each connected to a wireless controled outlet) were supplied for lighting use. The ensuite had two lights but only the one on the sensor worked, very anoying when getting up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet, constantly waking up my wife. But it gets stranger, we were a little cold but could find any controls to adjust the heating, so my better half sent a message on Booking.com, 5 minutes later a reply, along the lines "we have increased the temperature in the unit by a few degrees". But it gets even stranger, the garden area looked quite pretty and we wanted to take some pictures, ops the foyer door to the garden was locked. We got some more bags from the car and surprise surprise, my wife tried the door again and this time it was unlocked, but no hosts to be seen. But what we did see was signage in the garden/ lawn area wth the words "Private area, keep out". Never in our 10 years of travel to Europe, staying in 80 plus stays have we ever experienced the level of control that this host has installed.

Lovely home from home. Peaceful and pleasant area. Was nice to see all the peacocks in the garden in the morning. Everything was well presented and clean and tidy. It was a last minute stay for me and my partner and the host was very accommodating and helpful.
We cooked dinner for ourselves - just could have done with a few extra cooking utensils e.g wooden spoons and an extra larger frying pan (unless there were and we couldn't find in which case apologies) as didn't want to scratch pots and pans etc.

Is this property for 2 or 3?
Decor, space and facilities.
The description said 3 beds, we asked Richard to make up the third bed (sofa), then got a message upon leaving statting it was important to notify the owner how many people stayed in the property as only insured for 2! Shame as we really liked it, and there was plenty of space for 3, but wouldn't book again as left me feeling unwelcome.

I was pleased that it was for only one night.
The property was clean.
I felt someone was there watching me but no one made themselves visible. No breakfast was offered and used the food I had taken with me. Peacocks were walking about on the roof over the bedroom I was in during the night and kept me awake. They were allowed to roam free in the grounds but there were signs up for visitors to the effect that they were not welcome to join them.
It was not an experience I would wish to repeat.

Excellent property, excellent value for money. Myself and my children were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The property is stylish, spacious, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed watching the peacocks and rabbits in the garden. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you, we highly recommend Grey Oak.

In such a beautiful and very large and well-equipped apartment, it could have been a slightly larger bed, 160 cm for a slightly older couple is a bit small, especially since there is enough space.

Perfect for what I needed and having the flexibility to prep my on meals was perfect.

Wasn't keen on the peacock landing on my car. I won't park as close the the windows next time so they can't see their reflection!
Given the size of the bedroom a king size / super king bed would be better. I was travelling alone for work, so it was fine for me. Given the bed alone, this isn't somewhere I would stay as a couple.
