Disappointing!

The location of this pretty refurbished house was fantastic and close to all local amenities and the beach. The kitchen was modern and well equipped. But beware you must bring EVERYTHING with you in terms of towels, spices, sugar, condiments, coffee, tea, milk. The dining table was good as well as the TV with all modern Netflix facilities and super fast WIFI so my husband could work remotely without any problems. The fenced off garden was safe and ideal for our 2 small doggies.

Though there was garden furniture in the garden, there were no cushions for comfort supplied, this was disappointing especially for the price for this premium rental. Much to our dismay, there was no washing machine onsite. As we were spending 3 weeks away from the UK and in several different rentals during our stay in Belgium, this was a major cause for frustration. Going to a laundrette and waste hours whilst on holiday is not something we were willing to do. There were 2 snug sofas in the living room area which was sufficient for the 2 of us but if you were with 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 kids, this would not be suitable. The main bedroom though a lovely large bedroom, was very spartan with only a bed, from Ikea - so cheap and cheerful if you're into that kind of thing, but for the premium we paid we expected a proper bed with a comfortable mattress. We barely slept at all during the week we were there and it aggravated my arthritic back, should and hip pain exponentially. The Ikea wardrobe had no doors nor any drawers. The master bedroom would certainly benefit of a chest of drawers and long length mirror so you can check your outfit. The main bathroom looked good, but there was black mould present and the jacuzzi bath tub ran brown water every time we tried to use it, so it didn't instil us with any confidence. The heating didn't work well at all upstairs as the radiators were only partially warm, never hot and could benefit from maintenance or bleeding. We made all of our concerns very clear within the first 24hours of our stay there but they fell on deaf ears and no attempt was made to correct the brown water, the lack of heating and warm water. We booked through Booking.com to avoid any hidden extra fees and surprises, but were asked to pay an extra security deposit of €250 + €40 for sheets and towels cash. Our impression was very much maximum profit for minimum quality.
