A lovely place to stay as a base, quiet with some nice walks including a short walk to the local pub.

The property was spacious and comfortable. We were lucky with the weather so we folded back the doors which was pleasant until the flies became too much. Having a utility room was a bonus and very much appreciated.

An airer would have been useful to hang wet clothes on. WiFi would have been nice, in today’s times it would be expected. Thankfully we were able to keep ourselves occupied with games. Sadly we were inundated with flies, the plum tree by the door of the lodge was covered in flies feeding on the plums and they ventured into the lodge. At night the flies would fly around the room keeping us awake.

Ideal location for exploring into the Dales or down the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. A Lovely Lodge.

Great Location, just a short stroll to the Masons Arms, a proper village pub. excellent location away from all the hustle & bustle of modern life. the Lodge was ideal for what we wanted, well fitted out & homely.

The mobile signal in the area is not so good so free Wi-Fi would have made it perfect.

Nice, quiet, clean chalet

Nice property on a quiet 'chalet park', run by Sykes holidays, 10-15 mins walk to the town centre / nearest pub; the road has no footpaths most of the way though, so you need to be vigilant for traffic. I wouldnt have walked it in the dark. Easy access via an electronic gate, although the directions once on the park were wrong as in, the info stated that it was the first cottage on the right as you entered, but actually it was the second on the right. Little or nothing to do in the small town of Gargrave, but if you need a base to travel elsewhere, its not bad.

Provision of fans would be nice for hot weather as it was super-hot indoors making it difficult to sleep at night. The double bed in the main en-suite room was lovely (apparently), but the two single beds that were put together to make a double for me in the second bedroom, were very uncomfortable, the mattresses on either side of the bed were poor quality (or maybe just worn). Also, there was just the one, super heavy quilt on the bed, no separate sheet or blanket that you could use instead of the heavy quilt. It was pretty warm when we were there, so sleep quality was poor overall; obviously this wouldnt be an issue if the weather was cold.

A wonderful base on the edge of the Dales.

Wren lodge exceeded our expectations in terms of the quality of the lodge. The property was very spacious for 4 adults and the interior quality was excellent. The location was also excellent for us. It’s a short walk into Gargrave for shops, pubs and restaurants, yet being on the very edge of the village made it very peaceful. This was also aided by the very limited number of lodges on the site and the careful orientation of these made them very private. Will be returning.

Surprised not have wi-fi at the property and there was no additional toilet paper available beyond the one provided in each bathroom so had to purchase more from the local co-op. There are limited basics e.g. no salt and pepper, oil in the kitchen. So if you intend to cook, bring everything.

spotlessly clean, spacious and peaceful

peaceful location, close to the river (although no view of it) spotlessly clean mini walk in wardrobe to master bedroom was great-for suitcases and clothes all in one place. Even better if there was a mirror very light and spacious throughout lovely utility room

a bin for recycling would have been good a fire, even if just an electric one, to give a focal point in the lounge area would have been nice more equipment and utensils in the kitchen needed
