Nothing everything was good.

I loved the location, it's very central, but quiet. It took only five minutes to walk down to the busier parts of town or to the beach. The flat was super cozy and homely. It had almost everything I wanted but just about everything I desperately needed. There was TV and free wifi. There were some biscuits and milk in the fridge as a welcome and the place has clearly been prepared with love and care. Good thing of being all the way at the top is that you don't hear anyone walking around above you. Whitby Abbey was visible from the apartment when leaning out of the bedroom window and you see it to your left as soon as you leave the house (see photos).

The kitchen has most things I needed. A bit of a slim number of dishes, so you had to hand-wash after each meal as the dishwasher was only supposed to be run when full. Would be good to have a few more plates, cups and bowls to get through a day but depends on your habits of what you use. The apartment was very clean, except for an odd smell from the cupboard under the kitchen sink. There were cloths and cleaning sprays available so I wiped it out thoroughly, but still the smell remained. I didn't report it at the time, because if my cleaning didn't sort it, no one else's would have made any difference. The smell was a bit pungent though so I had to air the apartment and the kitchen cupboard twice a day, and tried to ignore the smell the rest of the time. Besides this nuisance the place was wonderful. I can see why taller people have complained about the bath/shower situation with the low, slanted bathroom ceiling. I'm only 5"2' and had to awkwardly bend to shower or sit down. But it didn't bother me too much as I wasn't staying for very long and their didn't need to shower so often. The apartment is all the way at the top, lots of stairs and the final stair case is fairly tight if you're big and carry a big suitcase.

Location.

It was quite smelly on arrival coming from the sink in the bathroom. I had to clean the bathroom floor as it was flithy. One of the light shades in the bedroom had fallen down on arrival which my partner put back up but was very dusty which then went all over the bed. Parking was very difficult the neighbours kept knocking to ask us “if this was our car” it wasn’t! This happened 3 times in 2 days.
