Flint Barn

The barn was immaculately presented and very comfortable.

Stunning well kept property. High standards. Clean. Good safety precautions for children.

Terrible management, bad communication. Couldn't get radiators in our bedroom to come on.

We spent a great weekend in this fabulous property. We were a family of 4 adults and 1 teenager (age range 16-90) and all were comfortably accommodated but the property could easily have worked for a group of 8. The bedrooms are all different but of equal quality (comfy beds and great showers/baths) and there is a large open plan communal area for cooking, dining, and relaxing. There was sufficient crockery etc and extra cooking utensils/equipment that some places lack. Hand sanitiser and wipes were available for Covid confidence! There is a garden which the weather wasn't quite good enough to enjoy (so we'll have to come back for another trip!) but we did use it to do a bit of stargazing. There are lovely walks nearby and the hosts provide useful maps and guides so you can make the most of the area. Thoughtful touches such as teabags and milk and some very welcome treats made our stay start with a smile.

It was all good.

We liked the quirky layout and the wood burner was definitely a nice feature, especially in the very cold weather. The beds were very comfy too! I even looked at which pillows and sheets they were to buy Myself.

It was freezing when we arrived. A window upstairs had been left open and the radiators in the left hand side of the barn didn’t work. The smallest room downstairs was freezing. The house wasn’t overally clean, lots of cobwebs, dust and dirt/confetti under the sofas. We did enjoy our stay overall but we were a little disappointed our request for anything Christmassy was not replied to, other then generic emails. A bottle of wine and cupcakes were left which was a nice touch. The kids enjoyed them. And lastly it would have been nice within the messages prior to arrival to mention we can use the log burner but to bring some logs with us. As we had a long journey then had to travel back out for them which wasn’t ideal. It would not have mattered too much but we were trying to warm up as quickly as possible particularly for the children keep warm.
