Our ocean front property is a comfortable and roomy 5-bedroom, 5-bath home with unobstructed views and within only a few steps from the warm, inviting sand and water of the Gulf of Mexico. You can count on spectacular sunrises and sunsets from the property's porch in the aptly named "Sunset Capital of Alabama". The serenity of Dauphin Island is truly the Gulf’s best kept secret.

Decorated in a vibrant tropical style, our home is bright and cheerful with a comfortable family-friendly decor. The house comfortably sleeps 12 people with two king size bedrooms, two queen size bedrooms, and two queen size beds in the fifth bedroom. There is ample room for even the largest of families with an extra-large, open floor plan. Guests can spread out and relax in the living room, 8-person dining table, 6-person bar, or in the modern kitchen that boasts granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

Dauphin Island isn't just for relaxing; however! You can rent bikes, kayaks, and other island toys for active family-fun. There was mold in the showers, two shower doors wouldn't open, the couch is completely worn out and was flaking material, a choking hazard for children. The window sill was flaking material, a choking hazard for children. We found dead cockroachs, and bug boxes. The tiles were cracked, a cutting hazard for children. The deck was in serious need of repair, with tripping hazards. Very little response from the management.

The location was perfect! The host was great with communication. It's so nice to have shade right next to the beach. Everything inside was perfectly equipped. The deck does need work. There are some loose boards and my grandson got a splinter. Other than that, the stay was perfect!

We LOVED this property. It was perfect for our family dynamic and age ranges. We appreciated each bedroom having its own bathroom. Our favorite aspect was the beach being so close; we didn’t have to set up a tent or carry chairs back and forth each night. Very convenient with the kids. Lots to do on the island as well.

This was our first trip to Dauphin Island. We absolutely loved being beach front! It was extremely convenient with having small kids with us. We did learn the hard way that when it’s windy..it’s VERY windy! We had a couple nights that the water was very high and we had vehicles stuck in the morning and stuff washed away or moved a lot due to so much sand being pushed up! Word to the wise, put things on the first level of the deck at night to be safe! The house itself was clean overall, but could use a good deep cleaning as there was dust and crumbs on baseboards and in corners. Walls could use a wash. The couch has a lot of wear..probably time for a new one. Check in was easy, as was check out. We would rent here again if we ever return!

The house wasn't clean, the ceiling over one bathtub was falling off, the window sills were warped and falling off, the deck was unsafe with many spindles only attached on one side, the list goes on. When i informed the manager she was responsive in the beginning. She said she was unaware of all the repair issues and asked for pics, which i did send. A repairman came quickly to fix the spindles we had found that needed attached. He didnt check the rest of the spindles and we found many more not safe, and we had a 2 year old that could fit thru the gaps, so we couldnt enjoy the deck. The manager did quit communicating eventually, probably because it was close to the end of our stay. The poor condition of the property didnt ruin the beach or the island for us, but it couldve added to it had it been as advertised. I never would've paid what I did for a beachfront property had i been aware. I wouldve gladly walked a short distance to the beach and had a nice place to stay. Ive stayed on the Island 3 times now and this was the only time i had a problem. Its a beautiful island with a family atmosphere

Despite the unfavorable weather during some of the trip, we all still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home has a great floor plan allowing us to spread out and relax. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for preparing meals. We were disappointed there was no grill but made the best of what we had. We spent most of our time on the porch or under the house in the nice shade watching the waves roll in and our guys fishing. During the rainy days we enjoyed the aquarium and riding the ferry over to Fort Morgan. Owner was very helpful with clear and concise information on check in and check out and always available to answer any questions. We can’t wait to go back next year.

The house wasn’t clean. There were a few other minor issues. The issues were not addressed and any inquiries were met with the attitude that somehow it was my fault. Too many fees…I won’t be booking with VRBO again

A large group of families rented nearby homes next to each-other for the best week of memories. The first night there we celebrated a 10 year olds birthday and I forgot the serving bowl for his pudding based cake I was a little panicked until I started going through the extremely well stocked kitchen cabinets found a suitable substitution bowl and kept the birthday celebration going! This house was perfect with a great kitchen set up and more than enough room to provide quiet and privacy for an 8 week old and other small kids. There was no beach wagons needed and the husbands could enjoy the beach and didn’t need to act as pack mules to load and unload beach gear. I saw a very minor issue with the dishwasher and Ashley immediately jumped on the issue and had it resolved. The large deck provided shade since the house was as right on the beach we didn’t need to bring a tent. We brought a folding table and served lunch right on the beach to limit the sandy feet going in and out. Tons of memories were made in this home but out of all the places we rented this was by far the best one because of the proximity to the beach and the layout of the home. There’s no need to pack the whole garage. Just swimsuits coverups and sunscreen!

This is a beautiful property but located in a area that is frequently flooded. We woke up to neighbors pounding on our door at 6 am saying our vans were being flooded. We had to have one towed. We got one out but had to park a mile toward town and across the street to keep it out of the flooded road area. There was already a van stuck in the high water on the road. We missed a day of a paid conference in Mobile but were happy to relax. We just couldn't go anywhere. I had alerts set on my phone and got no alert. This was not due to any rain but high waves from the huricaine that hit Florida. I checked with locals and they said that this part of the island gets flooded. The houses are on stilts but you really can't park your vehicle up far enough. We also got one van stuck in the sand near the house the first day. The sand was super soft. We had to have it pulled out with tow truck. There were no signs and no instructions where to park. You need a 4 wheel drive if you are going to stay on this part of the island. This house is beautiful and very comfortable. Just beware of flooding and where to park your vehicle. The manager did not answer her phone-she said she left it in her car all night. She was kind but said there was nothing she could do.

This is my 5th or 6th time visiting this island. Absolutely love it. This time my sister, her husband and her kids came down. They loved it. The location of the house is great, just make sure you pay attention pulling your vehicle onto the sand. The house was well stocked had everything you would need for a great beach vacation. Communication with the property manager was awesome. Only had a couple things wrong which the owner of the house was to fix upon our departure. If you are looking for a great house in a great location on the beach this is it. Especially if you have a big family coming. 4 of the 5 bedrooms have their own exit to the deck which was great for our kids to go in and out when they wanted too. The island it’s self for anyone who has never been there is extremely relaxing. Not a lot of shopping, beach is very private and AMAZING seafood. Plan to return to the island soon and would love to retire there someday. Thanks again and looking forward to returning to the island soon.

This property was good and served its purpose well. We had a family of 11 people stay for a week. I know it’s hard to keep the sand out but there was quite a bit when we arrived. I’d recommend the cleaning crew get a better vacuum. Other than that we had no complaints about the property itself. We had previously been to Florida a couple times and expected similar water. Definitely a difference there but we’re still able to find more than enough shells.

We always enjoy DI and this house was great for our family. We love being right on the water and the split floor pan. Our only concern was the condition of the deck as many boards were in rough shape and screws appeared to be popping up in several places. To help with reducing sand in the house, perhaps, a hose could replace the shower head outside. We tried our best to clean off but with low pressure and the wind blowing the water we had a hard time. Overall, this was a great house!

The property was beautiful. We loved the layout of the house being family friendly. Each room had a different color scheme with aquatic theme decorations. The master bedroom and bathroom were really special with the huge tub. Being right on the beach and bay side was excellent for everyone. The children could play and the men could fish. Ashley was the contact person if we had any problems. The air conditioner unit had shut its self off because of a clogged in the line, but Ashley got right on it and got us a repair man who worked quickly to fix the problem. It was only off on one side of the house. The previous renters must have not let Ashley know that the light blue room bathtub was clogged with sand. She tried to get a plumber, but they were in high demand. Everything else was perfect. We loved the location and the house. Thank you!

The house is super nice. Wonderful for each bedroom to have its own bath too! The kitchen was properly stocked. It looks as though they owners are keeping it well maintained with newer steps. There is some damage from the weather around windows and doors but looks to be normal wear and tear. Beach proximity is great. We just moved under the house when the sun got a bit hot and did not need umbrellas or tents much.

I wish I could give overall a 4.5. It’s located on the west end of the beach. The house was perfect with having young children. The deck is steps from the gulf waters, but it had the perfect amount of beach in front of the house for playing. We basically had the spot to ourselves the whole week. The house was very clean when we arrived. The king size beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had the right amount of supplies needed for cooking meals. The kitchen was also very roomy for a big group and lots of seating at either the table or the bar. A couple improvements for the kitchen is that the toaster and ice maker did not work, but hopefully they can get those fixed! Also, not very many kitchen towels. Some other improvements would be the deck needs a little work. Certain parts had loose boards which made us a bit nervous with small children. Also, the picture shows a water hose for spraying off feet, but it’s just a shower head which doesn’t work the greatest. Bring your own water hose! It would be much more convenient for just feet. Also, have some sort of weather radio available. We ended up being in a tornado warning and the internet is not the greatest in that house. We also didn’t have great signal on our cell phones. Overall- we had a great experience in this house. We would stay here again. Ashley was so easy to contact about questions or concerns!

Unfortunately, issues with the rental started the first day. We were unable to access the property at 4:00 because the lock to the property broke. This was not necessarily a problem for me, as we did not arrive until 5:30 or so, however it, apparently, was a problem for the cleaning crew, as they did not sweep our floor and we had to wipe off our feet before going to bed. The camp is minimally supplied with trash bags, cleaning supplies and bathroom products. I wish I had known this ahead of time as I would have brought supplies from home rather than having to purchase from the local store. Other than that, the property had an adequate supply of pots, pans, dishes and silverware. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and there is a very cute array of fish on the living room wall. My great granddaughter loved them. The property is very close to the beach providing wonderful views and relaxing sounds. We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

Spent alot of time on the beach with the kiddos, took the Mobile Bay Ferry over to Gulf shores for a day of arcade games, go carts and putt-putt golf. Very Enjoyable, home is right on the water.

We really enjoyed our trip to Dauphin Island. The house was clean and in a great location. Some minor maintenance issues exist, but nothing that would deter us from booking again. We had seven people here and this house would quite comfortably have held a dozen or more. You won’t be disappointed in this place.

We had plenty of space for our party and loved having the beach right out the doorsteps. The stairs, deck, and rail are worn and in need of replacement, the refrigerator had a missing shelf on the door and a missing one in the middle and then another shelf broke while we were there. Looks like there has been a roof leak in one of the bathrooms with discolored ceiling, and the window trim throughout the house was separating badly and looks unpleasant. Overall we had a good time hanging out with family and friends, but would probably look for another place next time that is newer and kept up better.
