Acacia Bay Retreat - Acacia Bay Holiday Home

The location was great, close enough to the town centre and very quiet. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. The apartment is in the basement level of a home and the upper level was empty which made our stay more restful than it might have been if the upper level had been occupied. The description of the property was very accurate and the apartment had everything we needed and more. Your heart is in your mouth as you turn off the road and into the driveway... it's a heart stopping experience as it's as described....very steep! We were grateful we had a small car as there is limited space to turn your car around, again this was as described in the property information. We would stay here again 😁

There were a few larger critters ( spiders and cockroaches) in one of the bedrooms but I guess being unoccupied a lot of the time doesn't help...plus it was getting colder outside and they were seeking a warm spot😜 It wasn't a problem for us but could be for others.

Problems with tv Tight access for vehicle

We had a comfortable stay,thank you. It was great to get away for the weekend with friends and of course it was a bonus they could bring their dog. The place was guest and dog friendly.

The driveway is steep with tight turning space so may not suit some guests.

private, comfortable beds, nice size living area

NO HEAT, was like a freezer, had 3 radiator heaters, but not able to turn on. Leaking kitchen tap from bottom of faucet, bench covered in water when arrived at property.steep driveway which needed 4wd to get up due to Dew/ice, which our vehicle never had. Phoned 0800 number supplied from Booking.com who had no info about heating, said she would contact owner/manager of property and phone back, still waiting for that phone call. Rung back several times with no answer. Eventually had to buy heaters to heat property ourselves. Was great that the beds had electric blankets, but then found in one bedroom only one side of blanket worked.
