Honestly, nothing! This host has provided an excellent cottage!
10.0 / 10.0
The cottage is spacious, very comfortable and full of character. We loved the way it is decorated, and felt immersed in the life of this delightful fishing village.
There is a welcoming pub a couple of minutes walk away. The shops, cafes and restaurants of Newlyn are a 10 minute walk away.
It is a very quiet location so we slept well in the comfortable beds.
A regular bus service takes you to Mousehole & Penzance. Its also lovely to walk to both of these destinations along the coastal path. We enjoyed a trip to Marazion for even closer views of beautiful St Michael's Mount.
Nothing.

The Old Net Loft is one of my favorite places to stay. It's such a nicely laid out and decorated cottage with loads of room, and two bathrooms, which is essential.
The shower over the bath in the ensuite room needs to have a way to fix it to the wall while showering. Otherwise, nice and hot and good power.

Key safe and number given before arrival
Inside the property was clean and quirky once in however the outside was tired and unkept
The seats out side were rusty and in need of a paint although cushions were provided they were not overly inviting.
The upper bedroom window pain was cracked on the outside which did not give a great first impression.
The front door was also not overly secure.
We understood it was a cottage so the stair case was narrow and steep however being painted white made it difficult to distinguish individual steps at night…….especially if having to use downs stairs toilet.
Over all we enjoyed our stay the sofa was comfy and kitchen well equipped. Surprisingly Spacious inside.
Difficult to locate actual door to use as there were 3 ….needed additional info and help from neighbours….not ideal after a long journey

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable, great location

The cottage is authentically decorated which gives a sense of really being immersed in the village of Newlyn. A spacious and welcoming living area. The fact that there are 2 bathrooms was an advantage for the 2 couples staying there. I booked on behalf of my 2 sons and their partners who stayed for a family celebration. They particularly liked the comfort of the beds and the fact that the cottage is within easy walking distance of everything Newlyn has to offer. The welcome biscuits and milk in the fridge was an additional bonus. Peter, the neighbours cat was also a highlight of their stay!
Only the difficulty in finding a parking space! However, this was made clear at the outset so did not come as a surprise and did not detract from the overall experience.

Loved the layout and presentation of this cottage. Fresh flowers and welcome cookies and milk in the fridge. Close to local amenities and a pub just a minute walk away. Clean and tidy and shampoos and shower gels were very nice. Lovely clean towels and bedding and comfy beds. Great to see essentials like cleaning products, washing up liquid and fresh drying cloth's, nice additions and not usually found in self catering homes. A five minute drive to large supermarkets and the train station is close too. Lovely walks that go on for miles, you can do plenty of foot or go out in the car where many other towns and sightseeing opportunities are available.
Stairs and parking.
The stairs are steep and were a slight challenge until we got used to them. I have seen other reviews say this and I think it's something to consider if you have toddlers or perhaps adults who aren't steady on their feet.
There is a car park and it's a busy one so you can't always get a space. It's a daily cost of £6.20 as there are charges 7 days a week, although it does allow you to park free overnight. There is some overnight street parking down near the harbour which is free from 18.00/8.00. it takes about 5 mins to walk back up the hill to get back to the property.
Hamish, the reason I have shared this information is so people can make informed choices. The property is lovely and the stairs and parking are out of your control.

No complaints at all.

The stairs. Dangerous I felt personally. Needed a second handrail.
Lot of steps in the building.
Needed highlighting regarding amount of steps I felt although the photos displayed steps.
Not enough comfortable seats if to accommodate a party of 5. 3 seater sofa and one armchair in leather. The remaining chair in the lounge was an occasional / bedroom chair.
No mop or hoover available ?

The location was superb, and the whole property was comfortable, homely and very nice to have complimentary biscuits ! The beds were very comfortable with just a minor bit of creak. All facilities were very good. The decor of the house is absolutely lovely.
Parking was a little bit of a lottery, as there is no parking allocated to the house you do have to use a council car park that you need to pay for between 0800-1800 and there were times when there were no spaces available. However, it is understandable as Newlyn is an original small fishing village and port and not designed for cars. It is a minor hiccup, but to be honest if you have great weather you are going to be out exploring as opposed to seating in the house, needing a parking space.

Quirkiness of the cottage, furnishings, comfortable beds, cleanliness, very well equipped.
The top section of the staircase did not have a handrail and, as we are both elderly, this was a bit of a problem. Occupant of 2nd bedroom having to go downstairs to bathroom at night. No plug for downstairs basin.

Really comfy beds and sofa (we watched tv quite a bit as it was low season!) nice towels and bedding and the host replied promptly via booking.com messaging service
It didn’t matter at all to us as it is already mentioned in the property details. The old fashioned steep stairs would be scary for small children and people with limited mobility - or sleepwalkers!

Really clean, really well equipped. Very comfortable beds and lovely sofa. Perfect location. Had a great stay. Plenty of towels and shampoo etc.
Not able to recycle as no information about where to put it etc. More handrails needed on stairs and steps into kitchen as quite steep. Info needed on how to use heating and cooker as had to hunt through booklets . An info folder would be useful, especially for parking.

Really clean and an ideal location with a lovely walk along the sea front to Penzance. We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!
Thank you!

No beachview from the cottage as advertised. That is the only drawback about this place but aparr from that, everything is good.

Clean. quirky Great location for a base to go exploring
Nothing to moan about

Clean and comfortable. Well equipped
Very steep stairs and other steps, lacking decent handrails. Really not suitable for elderly or young children. Suggest owners put in some strong hand rails
Car parking. Car park outside, but heavily over subscribed. Nearest other car park 500 yards away. Suggest owners organise spaces in the Reserved Parking area.

Nice modern decor and cosy. Really clean and fresh despite not being used in lockdown
Parking can be a challenge (it is Cornwall!) Would be great if house had permit to used the reserved parking nearby.
