Peaceful McKenzie River Retreat: Fish, Hike, & Ski

Cabin old but charming. Little things like spices and shampoo available. Owners provided fresh eggs which was very much appreciated. Good central location between Eugene and the Cascades.

The cabin is listed as "peaceful" but highway very close to cabin and traffic noise quite loud. Had to drive to safely access river as highway not safe to walk along. Had to walk long driveway and access road to get to highway. There are two VERY large potholes in upper steep part of driveway. Was glad we rented SUV.

We loved having coffee on the deck looking at the river! The home is adorable - vintage feel and wonderful art! It really had everything we needed.

It was very hard to find after dark - we actually pulled into the neighbor's driveway (who were super nice) and got directions to the correct drive.

The location was excellent. The house was in good shape we had everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen, beds were comfortable, and decor was inviting. This location was very close to the place we needed to be which was helpful. I loved the history of this older home, it felt like the walls could tell stories. The bathtub was an awesome bonus!

It was unclear what we were able to use and not use. Our confirmation email stated that a police report would be filed if anything was missing. We were hesitant to use anything except the bare essentials. For example, fresh eggs had been left in the fridge as well as some condiments, bagels, coffee, paper towels. It felt weird using any of these things with the possible threat of confrontation and police hanging over our heads. Instructions were not consistent. We were told by Evolve to strip the beds, then told by the host not to. We were not sure which lock to use when we left the property. Some little things could be more streamlined.
