A lovely quiet hideaway just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Swanage.

Short break over New Year.

Walking distance to the town centre and the beach also close to lovely walks through the Country Park to Anvil Point. There was a problem with the loo cistern but it was repaired quickly and without fuss. We were there at New Year and had wonderful weather, so spent a lot of time out of doors. The smart TV came in handy when we were at the house.

Not the owners problem, but parking is pretty difficult - we ended up 250 meters away up the hill. The bed is pretty small for an adult couple, but I guess it depends on what you are used to. The building is a converted stable and there are quite a few drafts through the doors etc so its tricky to keep warm during cold weather (which we had)

What an excellent cosy cottage. Every facility to make our short stay exceptional. We have stayed in 5 star hotels that don't have the level of comfort and cleanliness that we enjoyed here. Beautiful clean fresh bedding, and towels. Everything you need for cooking or eating in, and great choices nearby if you don't want to cook. This cosy cottage is the ideal hideaway but still connected to the world.

Limited parking, spaces are available, sometimes a short walk away.

peaceful, cosy , lovely location

This is a cute traditional cottage, easily catering for 3 adults and two children (ages 11 and 13), great location only five minutes walk down to the lovely little village of Swanage. I would highly recommend staying here. Very quiet and peaceful and only 30 minutes drive to many lovely sites to explore on the Dorset coast.

Lovely little cottage

We spent three nights at Hyde Cottage, which was indeed ‘cosy’ but fine for the two of us. Access down into town was easy (uphill on return of course!), about 7 or 8 minutes’ walk. The owner was very helpful and approachable when we contacted him. Maybe helpful to know that there are two keysafes just outside the front door, we struggled with the newer one then realised the key was in the upper one. The cottage is beautifully decorated and we found everything we needed, and more. Would definitely stay there again.

What an amazing cottage in the most beautiful of villages by the seaside. We loved our time here and fell in love with the decor of the cottage and came away wishing it was our home!

Only 1 slight small thing was the size of the double bed. we found it to be a little small so we struggled to get a good nights sleep but it wouldn't stop us using this cottage again

This is our second stay at the property - we visit swanage every year to see family - the cottage was every bit as good

The property is clean, cosy, quirky, brilliantly located - a true home from home. There are nice touches like coffee, tea, milk and biscuits and shampoo in the bathroom. The host is also very helpful - we stupidly locked ourselves out and he was very quick to arrange help.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage, prime location.. about 15 minutes walk into Swanage. The cottage was so well stocked, great facilities and comfortable beds. Would definitely come back again.

Only thing would be to get a corkscrew - we drink a lot of wine!

Silly problems spoilt stay

Very well equipped,everything anyone would need had been provided. Parking could be a problem

Television reception unpredictable due to a fault of aerial lead. No lighting in the bathroom. Simplified instructions to operate central heating would help. These quite important problems spoilt our stay.

HOME FROM HOME IN THE ISLE OF PURBECK

Really lovely holiday let in the best location- close to everything but blissfully quiet! Just a 5 minute walk to the town and sea in swanage. Gorgeous old stone cottage for the authentic purbeck experience. We had some rainy days but the cottage had everything we needed for chill out days. Lovely host who was incredibly helpful and responsive. We will definitely go back to this home from home.
