Hotel Vision Budapest by Continental Group

We liked the understated classiness of the hotel. From the street, you don't see much at all, but once you walk past the restaurant front terrace and into the heart of the building itself, the transformation is magnificent. We arrived early evening, having done most of our check-in online and already arranged an 8pm table at the Tapas Fino restaurant via the hotel staff. After a relaxing drink in our suite overlooking the Danube, it was a quick shower and change before a lovely dinner on the Tapas Fino terrace (great service there). Our suite was extremely well appointed, with a dining & kitchen area, a sofa space with coffee table and TV, fabulous bathroom with separate WC, a truly comfortable large bed, two easy chairs and coffee table facing the river. We couldn't use the balcony (the suite isn't advertised with a balcony, so that wasn't a problem), but the large windows opened wide, so sitting looking outwards very much had a balcony feel to it. The front suites have a private secure access to their own elevator. In all hotels there is often a problem waiting too long for elevators, finding them fully occupied and (dare I say it) picking up someone else's bugs. We didn't have any problem with any of that. It felt truly wonderful not having to wait for the elevator. We only encountered one minor issue, which wasn't that significant at all, but the management dealt with it immediately and really went above and beyond what we would have expected.

Just a couple of small things. The 4 seater kitchen/dining area of our suite had a refrigerator and a 2 ring hob, plus all the usual eating and drinking utensils, but you couldn't cook here. It was fine for making tea and coffee and storing cold stuff, but if you wanted to eat in you'd have to order something or bring it in yourself. The two televisions seemed to have Chromecast, but after having a good look we concluded it wasn't possible to plug in our Firestick.

The location was perfect, the staff very helpful, the rooms were nice.

Amazing hotel. It was unfortunate we only stayed 1 night in Budapest, but if we ever return, this is definitely the hotel I'm choosing again. The location is great, the staff was very friendly, the room was prepared with lot of care for our stay with a 4 years old, even having a complimentary teddy bear available, an extra sofa bed prepared, and so on. They also had a free and private underground parking, which is incredibly helpful for those renting or coming by car.

Not a big deal nor something easily fixable by the hotel, but it was slightly hard to get to the parking lot entrance due to how the streets are organized there, at least for a first time driver in Budapest trying to deal with maps, trams, people and narrow streets. They did provide helpful instructions in advance, which mentioned to take a ticket from the machine and hand over to the staff during check-in, but in reality the machine said the parking was full. Upon calling reception through a button there, they readily opened the gates and let us in though.
