The Mustang Blu

This hotel itself is a historical building in China town in Bangkok. Not as quiet at night because the traffic in this area is busy. Hotel provides ear plugs. Breakfast was pretty good.

The hotel was most definitely a bit of us! so different. We felt like we had gone back in time. Stepped into an old movie set, We have had two weeks of hectic family time , fun and sightseeing so we wanted to have romantic chilled stay just for us. We ordered from the fantastic selection of cocktails and beers and sat taking in the wonderful feel of the hotel. Then it started!!! we were surrounded by people posing on the giraffes, piano, spiral staircase one after another. Not just one shot either pose after pose bussling around us. My husband was getting really frustrated. I had booked an evening meal and had to ask the staff if it would be like this in the evening because if it was we would not be staying. Such a shame because those people spoiled it and the staff should stop it. Ok a memorable photo but not like that so unfair. Then the evening meal. The food is fantastic i have to say but this was how it went. I think i will go for the lady and the tramp, had lots of thai food as we have been here so long. The waiter said no , he would not recommend that as today he had seen many guests not happy with it. I said oh ok i will have the chicken, no mam problem because takes st least one hour and kitchen closes at 9. No mention of this on the menu as i could have ordered earlier in the day. Our table was an average 7.30 wanted 8 but they said better be earlier due to closing time. Anyway, went for the pork chop and it was lovely but my third choice. My husband had fish and he enjoyed it too. The staff are so welcoming but they don’t have enough knowledge of the food and drinks they are serving so if you ask is it sweet etc… no clue. Overall it was wonderful a great experience but definitely need to work on the service and the menu restrictions and pre warn if additional cooking time needed. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before again very different we had sea bass it was beautiful! Hopefully this feedback will help the hotel improve. A must see place ,

It’s actually a really cool hotel. I just picked the wrong room. I wished I booked the one with balcony. The attention to details are amazing.

If you are looking for an interesting place to stay, this is it. Entering through the entrance doors, you are going back in time, super old school medicine hall vibes at the reception. Do take note, there is no elevators in the building, if one is unable to climb too many stairs, you might want reconsider staying on Level 2 instead. Room was in an interesting triangle shape, and I personally like the vibes. I could deal with some squeaky floor board, hearing the traffic outside as well as a low pressure shower head. To me, it was part of the experience. If you prefer your room to be super high tech and luxury, this is not it. Breakfast was good, so do give it a try. Location wise it’s a couple of mins drive to the main Chinatown area, but it can get a little busy during the mornings and evenings, so do buffer some travelling time. Overall an interesting experience.
