Snowdonia Stone Cottage

Excellent place to stay during a heatwave as stone cottage stayed lovely and cool. Beautifully clean and crisp sheets. Well provided for with toilet roll, lovely soap and washing up liquid/ clean sponge. Host left us some bread, beer etc, which was really appreciated. Host very responsive and came round straight away to sort settings when we didn't have hot water on our first night...rapidly resolved and very hot after that.

Smelt damp and felt cold (17C) when we arrived, but warmed up very quickly with the heating. Shower needs fixing or replacing as such low pressure from the head in spite of otherwise good water pressure in the cottage. The only bathroom is on ground floor a couple of steps up from kitchen with low head clearance...a few banged heads during our stay. Bedrooms are on the first floor. Very little space around double bed, have to shuffle sideways to get around it.

The cottage is perfect for a stay at Beddgelert and surrounding areas. Emma, the host was very helpful and all the information received for our stay was very helpful.

Shower isn’t the best, and could do with updating.

Fire, location, authentic

The village is beautiful and the cottage location is perfect! We really enjoyed the cosy fire in the evenings.

Although the host made some nice touches (bread, cake, fresh milk), we found the communication a little frustrating. I had a few emails and messages which weren't responded to, and we ended up calling directly. When we arrived, we were missing some basic amenities such as toilet roll and a washing up sponge. We reached out to the host, who was apologetic and arranged for them to be dropped off in the morning. They never got dropped off in the morning as we left the cottage at midday, it wasn't until after half 12 the host messaged explaining she didn't have her spare keys and ended up leaving the items in a bin bag by the door as we were out for the day. Ultimately, it's not what we'd expect for £175 a night - we'd just have appreciated better communication and not being left without toilet roll and no way to wash up the dishes in a small kitchen!
