Hen Do Perfection

Just come back from a 2 night stay at Sawcliffe Manor and we stayed in the Hare Cottage. There were 7 of us for my friend's Hen Do and it was absolutely amazing. We booked the spa facilities and the afternoon tea, the spa was just next level and the staff were so so lovely and helpful, the afternoon tea was amazing and the details were so delicate and the Bride to Be said she felt so special. The house was comfy, clean and warm, 10/10, would definitely recommend!!

Wonderful

We have had such a wonderful stay here at Sawcliffe .We have enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, relaxing and admiring the beautiful surroundings whilst spotting different wildlife, We made use of the BBQ facilities which we thoroughly enjoyed and the local cat (pocket tiger) even came to sit with us during it. We booked a twilight spa session, which was sublime. We slept so well after it. Em was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff on site were always friendly and welcoming. I could go on and on, but we are already booking to come back. Just fabulous!

Best place we have EVER stayed!

We stayed here for our anniversary and to celebrate our engagement. We stayed at hare cottage, and loved every second of it. The cottage itself was beautiful, extremely spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding area was stunning. Upon arrival we were greeted, and shown to the cottage, the staff member (I'm sorry I can't remember your name) was extremely welcoming, and gave us loads of information about the area, including the nature reserve which was a short drive, or a 20-30 minute walk which we opted for. We got in, set our bags down, then went for a walk around the property. We had ordered the afternoon tea hamper which had been brought to the cottage for us, it was delicious, so many sweet and savory treats, including fresh ground coffee, and loose tea leaves, for that proper afternoon tea feel! We went for a walk around the area before tucking in, the manor is beautiful, the yurt looked really good, as did the spa area, we didn't experience them, but we will be back to try them! Now taking into account that we stayed at Hare Cottage, we didn't expect to see THAT many hares, they were everywhere on one of the fields, so peaceful watching them run about. No noises of a town, or traffic or people, it was exactly what we needed! We also ordered the breakfast hamper, which came with bacon, eggs, sausages, croissants and a variety of sauces, as well as more tea and coffee! We both said it was the best breakfast we had had in a while! I'll be honest, when I saw the price of the hampers I was Abit sceptical, but both the afternoon tea, and the breakfast hampers leave absolutely nothing out! Both me and my partner agreed, for what you get it is 100% worth it! It's the little touches as well, so a hand written note in the hamper, and a cute little field mouse teddy (my partner was very sad she couldn't take it 😂) if you're staying here, treat yourself, honestly! You won't regret it.

I'm honestly racking my brain for something to say here, but I don't think there was a single moment where me or my partner were dissatisfied with anything.

Wonderful stay at Hare Cottage - Sawcliff Country Manor

This is a lovely rural cottage with great views. The interior has many fabulous touches that show the that the owners have thought about their guests. Everywhere was clean and welcoming. It was wonderful to sit out in the evening with a glass of something in the peace and quiet of the Lincolnshire countryside. Check in / check out was simple and the communications from Emily were fantastic. We look forwards to returning for a longer stay!

terrible owners

I stayed here because I was visiting my grandma for one night. I arrived at the property at 10pm having spent the day at my grandmas house with her and her dogs. I fell to sleep on the sofa and my clothes had pet hair on them, so they have charged me £30 pet fee despite me not bringing a pet to the property and there being no evidence of this. they have also charged me an additional £35 to hoover up the pet hair. I’d have done this myself , there is a cleaning fee if you don’t clean up so I left the place immaculate , I even gave the oven a wipe down after use. I couldn’t hoover though because there is no hoover provided in the property but they are charging me to hoover anyway. I have a 2 month old baby and I regrettably left baby wipes on a pillow which left a little wet patch on the pillow . they have charged me £25 to throw this cushion away and purchase a new cushion apparently . I have asked for photos of the “excessive hoovering fee” but they refuse to provide the photos . they claimed that their feather pillows are not allowed to be washed but a quick google searched confirmed this to be a complete lie, they then replied and said well we tried to clean it but it wouldn’t clean. I have asked for a link to the website they purchased the new pillow from and / or a receipt confirming purchase, this request has been ignored. I said I was going to leave my feedback online and they said we will contact the police and send them your passport . utterly appalling and seems such a scam just to get extra money out of you . in terms of the booking itself - the address isn’t as listed here on booking .

Ideally situated to visit family in the surrounding area. We had a lovely trip to York for the day visiting the Christmas market and the Jorvik Centre. We would recommend this as a base to visit from.
