Tropical Hideaway

I enjoyed EVERYTHING about my stay, this was my second visit. I like that it's so close to the fish fry, which was always jumping. I was excited to see so many people out enjoying themselves. Close to the beach. And the owners Mr. Melvin and Ms. Donna were amazing! Very friendly and accommodated all our needs. I don't see myself staying anywhere else. Yea I'd rather stay here instead of fancy places. Plus is tucked away.

A Quiet Little Gem in Nassau – Warmly Recommended! Tropical Hideaway is simply charming — not only because of its location, but especially thanks to the wonderfully welcoming people behind it. Dona Grant and Melvin have created a peaceful little haven that is comfortable, well equipped, and perfectly suited even for a week-long stay. I came to Nassau to work on my third historical novel, and Tropical Hideaway turned out to be exactly what I needed: the peace and quiet necessary for writing, while still offering easy access to Nassau and its fascinating — and deeply moving — museum devoted to the history of slavery. I stayed in a ground-floor apartment, which was exceptionally spacious and very clean. It included a comfortable living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a huge and very comfortable bed, a walk-in closet, and a large bathroom. The design is simple, pleasant and practical. The air conditioning works beautifully, and the Wi-Fi is strong and reliable everywhere — both indoors and outside. The clean, warm swimming pool became another favorite spot of mine, providing many peaceful hours to relax, think, and occasionally let the next chapter of the novel take shape. The property is fenced and accessed through a coded gate, which adds a welcome sense of privacy. Within easy walking distance there is a Utility store where you can buy groceries, drinks, alcohol and most everyday necessities. A little farther away is a spotless KFC, while Marco’s Pizza delivers very good Italian food with impressive speed. Taxis are readily available to take you anywhere, although they can be rather expensive. If I had to mention one small point for improvement, it would be the water pressure in the shower, which could be stronger. But that is a minor detail in what was otherwise a truly enjoyable stay. Tropical Hideaway gave me exactly what I was looking for: comfort, tranquility, privacy and genuine hospitality.
