Casa do Castanheiro, Açores - With private pool!

Stayed 3 nights with a family of 4 including a 6 &8 year olds. The house and yard was as advertised and my kids loved the pool. The host was very responsive and no issues. Beautiful view of the ocean and the kids loved the neighborhood animals including the dogs, cats and cows. A nice slow change of pace after staying in the city. Beautiful area to walk with some great scenic views nearby including from the patio of the house. The owner of the local grocery store was the friendliest person I met on the island. Would recommend staying here if your looking for a relaxing quiet area.

Nice home. Clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay.

The home has a great view east over rooftops with picturesque sunrises. The swimming pool was very nice and the home is in a quiet area (except for mooing cows in the morning!). Pedro provided good driving instructions and suggestions in advance of our arrival and was responsive to our texting while we were there. The walkway from the parking area up to home is quite steep but worth it for the view as long as guests do not have any walking issues. The main frustration that we had during our stay was the temperamental stovetop cooking range that sometimes worked and sometimes not. Pedro was responsive each of the two times we contacted him about it, sending his assistant to help within 15-20 minutes. On our last full day in the house, he even offered that we could use another of his properties to cook or sleep if we were unable to make do with the erratic range. (Pedro indicated that he intended to look into this after we checked out.) Also, we did not see some of the amenities listed on the Vrbo site for this property (e.g., dish washer, washer/dryer, or billiards/pool table). However, overall it was a good stay.

The house and setting were amazing, it is well furnished, wonderful terrace and garden with pool and outdoor grill. Bring food with you and cook a special meal, or restaurants in noreste
