Definitely recommend this houseboat!

The houseboat was exceptional! It was very roomy, was in a great location, and it had a fireplace. The host was also very accommodating and gave great recommendations. He was very clear on the ins and outs of the houseboat.

Exceptional

Everything about the houseboat was fantastic. It was clean and well maintained. Check-in was super smooth, and instructions were very clear. The location was perfect, very close to cable-car for Namur citadelle, and also a 15 min walk to the train station. It was safe too.

Experience Namur on the water!

Arcadia, a péniche which is a special Belgian flat-bottomed barge, is fantastic. Everything you need is provided. It has plenty of space that is all yours to enjoy. Plus, firm beds, excellent shower pressure, good hot water, takeaway delivery to the end of the gangplank, and wonderful walks. Namur is a lovely place to visit with a fascinating history, pretty architecture, extremely friendly people, and delicious food. I wish we’d visited sooner! The barge is peaceful and it is fun to watch the river traffic without being buffeted about. When the sun shines, sitting on the top deck was a treat, with comfortable outdoor seating. Julien is a very kind host.

Ventilation can be an issue, and it is unfortunate that you can’t open any windows. The outside windows needed cleaning to best enjoy watching boat traffic.

The boat life

Great location with parking right next to the boat. We enjoyed the sun on the deck and watch the boats pass by on the river Maas. The interior is beautiful and well maintained.

Great value for money

Our first time on a boat house and we truly loved it. Comfortable beds and pillows. A spacious boat with three bedrooms two toilets and a massive living room/diner. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to stay. Definitely paying a second visit.

Un petit bémol pour le canapé lit qui n'a pas été apprécié: pas assez confort.

Unkomplizierter Check-in Vermieter immer erreichbar. Top Lage Alles da was man braucht. Zu beachten ist, dass das alte Schätzchen von Boot, tatsächlich ohne "Landanschlüsse" ist und man daher ein paar Sachen beachten muss. Beim Strom also entweder Kaffeemaschine, oder Geschirrspüler oder andere größere Verbraucher... Und das der Frischwassertank im Boot bei voller Besetzung die tägliche Duschzeit p.P. begrenzt und das Wasser nicht zum trinken oder auch nicht einmal zum Zähneputzen benutzt werden sollte und schon gar nicht für den Tee oder Kaffee. Hat uns aber nicht wirklich gestört und wir hatten eine schöne Zeit auf der Arcadia.

Das in der Beschreibung nicht klar ersichtlich war, dass man zu einem der Schlafzimmer nur durch eines der anderen gelangt....war im Freundeskreis bei uns jetzt kein Problem, aber ggf. nicht für alle Gruppen geeignet. Die Fenster/Bullaugen können nicht überall geöffnet werden...was wegen der Wasserlinie verständlich ist...aber ein gutes Belüften auch ausgesprochen schwierig macht. ....für Leute mit leichtem Schlaf....die Betten knartschen leider bei jedem "Umdrehen" recht ordentlich
