Palace Apartment by Main Station - President

Excellent location. Spacious apartment with high ceilings and artsy design. The staff were superlative - quick to respond before and during our stay. They effectively helped us with the different apps needed to check in and pay city tax. They brought extra bathroom supplies on request. Overall amazing experience. Highly recommend.

We would have liked to have been able to check in an hour or so early. The apartment was completely ready, but we were not permitted access until exactly 3pm unless we agreed to pay an extra 30 euro. We felt this was unnecessary and unreceptive - it would cost the business nothing to allow slightly early access to tired travellers. With no where to even leave our bags (except a referral to private paid storage) and after 25+ plus hours of travel, we waited outside the apartment door until the code was activated. The other issue was the need to use three external third party apps to pay city tax, check in, and get apartment code access. Booking.com specifically warns to not pay or answer such requests due to predatory scams looking to steal money or personal data. We found it confusing and stressful on whether to click these links even though they were coming from inside the booking app. The apartment staff were very helpful in the end. But we wonder if there could be a less complicated method to provide details and pay city tax.

the decor was quirky

the facilities that were listed were not accurate. there was no dryer, clothes airer, fold out bed. my sons who are both 6ft 4in had to sleep on the lounge because what was advertised as a sofa bed was not a proper bed at all. was disappointed to pay what we did and not get what was advertised.
