Villa Agel is a spacious and elegant villa set on a knoll overlooking Coral Bay offering 180 degree views of Coral Bay, Drake's Passage, and the British Virgin Islands. Though it is only minutes from the best beaches and restaurants in the Caribbean, guests enjoy complete privacy, whether sunning by the large pool or dining outside in the shade of palm trees and flowering bougainvillea. You'll fall asleep to the gentle lapping of waves on the nearby shore. To add to your comfort, the villa is solar powered with battery back-up should the island loose power.
Exceptional design, craftsmanship, and landscaping set Villa Agel apart. Traditional West Indian stone walls and arches are complemented by rich mahogany woodwork. You will enjoy the well-equipped spacious granite and mahogany kitchen. A formal dining area and living room wrap around the central stone tower, a separate wet bar is great for entertaining, the view out the window is spectacular, and opens up to a generous deck with 180 view with incredible sunrises and stargazing.
Off each side of the main living area, are two large masters with air conditioning, vaulted ceilings, and en-suites. Both (one king and one queen) have traditional Caribbean mahogany four poster beds, views of Coral Bay, sliders or french doors that open onto the pool deck, and outdoor showers with tropical plants and beautiful stonework that are high enough for privacy.
At the heart of this remarkable compound is a generous and very private pool, bordered by terracotta tile decks and lounge chairs to delight sun worshipers. If you prefer shade, two pergolas, mature palms, and lush tropical gardens offer several quiet, shady retreats. Antique brick arches surround an expansive covered gallery overlooking the pool and Coral Bay and provide access to two more master suites with air conditioning, en-suites, queen-size beds, views of Coral Bay, sliders to pool deck, and each has a private balcony with Coral Bay Harbor views!
The 5th bedroom is located downstairs near the parking area. It is the largest of all the bedrooms and boasts a king bed and a twin futon, views of Coral Bay (including from the shower), kitchenette, stonework, and AC.
Privacy is given very high priority at Villa Agel. While the managers are on-sight, they are on a separate level. Yet close enough to give personal attention. Schedules permitting, they will meet you at the villa to acquaint you with everything. You may never want to leave.

Villa Agel is located in St Quacco Zimmerman on the outskirts of Coral Bay and 9 mountainous miles from Cruz Bay, close to one of the most popular restaurants for local food and entertainment - Miss Lucy's. Villa Agel is a short drive to the heart of Coral Bay with many restaurant options such as Johnny Lime, Sharky's, Pizza in Paradise, Rhum Lines, and the famous Skinny Legs where you can get a cheeseburger in paradise. You are a 15 minute drive to Maho & Francis (swim with sea turtles!), part of the North shore beaches, 20 minutes to Hansen in the East End, and a 5 minute drive to Salt Pond, one of the best snorkeling spots on the island and the trail head for Ram Head hike.

This villa has everything! The views are unbelievable. My husband said it was a bit of a paradise. Our grandsons felt it was the best vacation ever. The hosts were wonderfully responsive to all our questions!

We had a family vacation and this place was just perfect. The views, the pool, the rooms were great. The photos don’t do it justice. Catherine and Eric made our stay a real joy. Appreciate them sharing this wonderful home with us.

We had a great stay at Villa Agel. The property was spacious with a well planned layout that afforded private and communal spaces. The view was terrific with expansive ocean vistas dotted with many islands. We cooked every night and found the nearby Calabash market had some very nice fish and meats. The little town of Coral Bay was a short drive. The owners were promptly responsive to our questions. We look forward to future visits.

We have stayed on St. John for years and each year in Coral Bay. This home was perfect in many ways. Pool, Dining area, Views and location near Salt Pond and Miss Lucy's etc. However, we will not be coming back to this home. 1. A dead rat in the house caused and enormous stink and the property manager only showed up after we reached out to the property owner. 2. The grill was beyond disgusting and out of order when we arrived and wanted to grill our dinner. Again, we reached out to the owner and we at least received a full propane tank. This helped, but the inner workings of the grill were completely rusted through. Pool was fabulous. Turtle was a welcome visitor. Bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. Lots or snorkeling supplies, beach chairs and coolers for our daily treks to the beach. Kitchen was reasonably well provisioned but at least one of the stove burners wasn't working correctly. All things considered we had a great time but this property didn't live up to our expectations. Oh, one more thing. The house is off the grid and uses solar for electric and hot water. This is wonderful and we support the effort. However, if you want a hot shower or even a warm shower in the morning it can be very challenging. We had to ask more than a few times to have the back up electric hot water heater bumped up, particularly on cloudy days.
