Emma, the owner, was a fabulous host. She was super knowledgeable about the area and Belize in general, always helpful and friendly. The room (we had a double bed on a mezzanine) had a quirky layout and the interior design gave industrial vibes while the communal terrace area was cool and well-equipped. We hired mountain bikes for a day trip which was fun.
Nothing, it was lush!

Easy to locate in the village.
Bus stops right in front of the hostel which is a plus if using public transportation.
Comfortable and clean place!
The host, Emma, is super accommodating and approachable to answer any questions.
Thank you!

The owner, Emma, was very attentive and lovely. You could see she built everything herself, all into the little details. There was also the sweetest cat. We got an upgrade of the room which was great as well, very large room. The roof terras was great to hangout as well. Don't forget to bring you motordrivers license, because then you can rent a motorbike!
You can also rent a (mountain)bike.
The shower stream could be better in our room

The roof top and appliances available. Walkable to beach and stores.
It felt like we were in a hot jail cell with everything cement, no breeze, no colour and dark. An engine workshop just outside the door and the location is very noisy.

Crash Pad Adventure Hostel in Hopkins might just be Belize’s best hostel. It’s not your average backpacker stop; it’s incredibly clean, thoughtfully maintained, and has a very cool design. Every detail feels intentional, from the smart layout of the rooms, to the artistic touches throughout the property. It’s clear that this place was built for travelers who appreciate comfort but who don't want to pay for unnecessary extras, like a television in your room.
And then there’s the staff — Juan, Cornelio and Eva were a little shy at first, but that’s exactly what makes them so genuine. They’re hardworking, kind, and always ready to help when you need it. I was floored when I learned that they actually built everything; walls, showers, furniture - EVERYTHING!
Most of all, they gave me a true window into Belizean life and society. My conversations with them added depth to my stay and turned my experience into something memorable and authentic.
Between the spotless cleanliness, the creative design, and the warm, genuine staff, Crash Pad Adventure Hostel is far more than a place to sleep, it feels like a whole experience. If you’re curious to explore Belize, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better hostel anywhere in the country.
Nothing! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, it's not fancy, but one of the best hostels I've stayed at. No complaints!

EMMA - definitely one of the friendliest and best hosts we ever had! Thanks for all the ideas and informations you helped us out!
DUCATTY- the super cute and famous kitty!
Building, the shared rooftop with kitchen, provided water and the hang hooks- perfectly for a chill!
Our upgrade due to the room
How effective can y build a tiny place- visit and find out!
Very clean and safe place!
Our tap was completely blocked on one side, resulting in higher pressure. This led to a small flood and mess every time we washed our hands....

We had an amazing time at Crash Pad! The room had a cool functional design and was super clean. There's a really nice rooftop kitchen with a good equipped outdoor kitchen, a fridge and hammocks.
The location is perfect, many supermarkets and the beach in walking distance.
I can highly recommend this place, even if you're not a biker 😊

probably the most complete information about the possibilities of activities and transport, compared to other hotels on our trip.
The owner's European precision and thoughtfulness of every detail, which the guest will appreciate.

I loved my stay at Crash Pad. Emma has created a fantastic hostel with lots of thought put into the facilities and finishes. Emma was super friendly and helpful. Hostel is centrally located and has a fabulous rooftop terrace for hanging out with other travelers and cooling off in the evenings. Motorbikes are available for rent and I was lucky enough to join Emma for a day of riding through the local trails. Would definitely stay again!

Great little hostel nicely situated in Hopkins, perfect for a few days at the beach or snorkelling. Emma, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful about what to do in the area. In case you have a motorcycle license, she can take you on a tour of the area on some hot wheels. There's a spacious rooftop terrace too, and the hammock up there will become your best friends!

New construction, just across the road from the beach, near all facilities, rooms are comfy and very clean ,there’s a lamp near the bed a big plus**and space to put your things, big windows.
hot water with good water pressure, fan works good, upper terrasse to chill, fridge and kettle, staff is friendly and helpful the place feels good and comfortable I recommend even if there’s improvement to be done.
the rooms can get real hot in the afternoon , it’s a concrete construction without trees or vegetation around and the design doesn’t help for flow of air.I didn’t use the upper double bed because the ceiling is too low so if you’re claustrophobic use the one downstairs. The rest is all good.

We had a great stay! Emma was super kind and helpful in assisting us to get transportation to Bocawina National Park and to continue our journey to Placencia. The room was nice, and there was a good bathroom with a hot shower. I liked the rooftop with hammocks, some seats, a fridge and a few basic kitchen supplies.
If you're a licensed motorbike driver, it's possible to rent those for a day or a week!

The property was very practically designed by the owner with all the essentials necessary when you are backpacking. Nice terrace where you could chill and also hang your wet clothes if you needed to wash anything. The room had hooks to hang things. Emma was very good host, very helpful. She also had guide books and tourist advise all printed if you needed to find a restaurant or a trip everything was on hand. One of the best accommodations we have stayed during our trip around Belize.
I would recommend a cooking class we have done with the locals cooking Belize national dish. It was such a great experience and lot of fun.
Just a little tip if planning to take early bus from Dangriga when in Hopkins to travel to Belize city or Belmopan rather try to take the bus from the Hopkins junction as we had problems to get on a bus at early morning in Dangriga there were no spaces as the station was too busy with lot of people. We wanted to get the Express bus to Belize city but the bus is changing to Express from Belmopan therefor the bus should stop at the Junction in Hopkins.

Very cute place to stay for a few nights, great location in the Hopkins.
The owner has lots of great recommendations for restaurants, things to do, places to see...
There is some parking spots available if you have your own car, otherwise it's very easily accessible for shuttles or taxis.

The crash pad was just that, a perfect place to crash for the night (or two).
I loved the use of space and left with ideas for my own tiny home.
The rooftop deck was my favorite and the owner was so thoughtful with putting a mini fridge, coffee maker and fresh water up there. Not to mention books and games.
The coffee shop around the corner was amazing with the best gluten free waffles.
The host that you are in contact with is wonderful. He is a true artist and I think designed all the cool finishing touches.
It is small and the top loft was hot. Clearly the size was a plus for my family. The heat can’t be helped and there are fans. I don’t mind a little sweat. Actually when we came back for another stay a few days later, the temp was much more comfortable. Again, it’s not a complaint at all but if you want AC, depending on when you visit, you may look elsewhere. In my opinion it would be a shame to miss out on this gem for any reason.
My family of 3 can’t wait to stay at Crash Pad again.
Maybe put a stronger fan on the top loft

This is a chic little hostel in the center of the village. The first room we were shown to had the bed on a mezzanine reached by a steep ladder. My 77 year old husband was not able to manage this but fortunately they had another room available with a conventional bed which they immediately offered us at no extra charge. Everything is modern, smart on clean. The beach is just across the road, and decent eateries a step away. Very good value for a no frills stay.
Beware of the bed on the mezzanine! Would be fun for a young couple though. The bathroom is impeccable but really small, and could actually be a bit awkward for a large person.

The room was impeccable, the bed was comfortable, multiple fans in the room including a remote controlled oscillating fan as well as bedside ones. The hostel owner Emma is an incredible human being and great host. The rooftop chill out area is an amazing shared space with free water and a fridge and communal general items like sunblock and insect repellant. The shower in my room was good enough to write home about. This hostel attracts polite and openminded hostel guests. It was honestly the best place I stayed in my entire time in Belize. A+
Nothing.
