About this cabin rental
Scandanavian style Monktonmead Lodge is one of two lodges set in the grounds of Arethusa Cottage, within Pig Leg Lane 'natural' nature reserve. It is secluded, but within walking distance to Ryde town and beach. Available to book all year round, it has a double room, bunk room (adult size beds) and a loft area in the eaves with twin beds at floor level - not suitable for the very young or elderly. The lodge has a modern kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer and plenty of storage, there is a breakfast bar (2 stools) overlooking the garden. The a bathroom has a toilet / wash basin, shower pod, washing machine and storage area. The living space opens onto a private decking area with seating and gas BBQ. The dining table, in the living space, seats up to 6 (4 chairs and 2 stools). There is a smart TV and free internet. IF BOOKING FOR DOUBLE ROOM OCCUPANCY ONLY, DISCOUNT MAY BE AVAILABLE OUT OF PEAK SEASON.
Guests staying at Monktonmead have use of a 9m x 5m heated indoor*pool open daytime and evening from February half term to October half term inclusive (this shared with guests at one other lodge). Guests also have use of the owners large garden with various seating areas and and a large pond with Koi Carp. The immediate area is quiet although the Island Train Line runs at the rear of the property and this can be heard from the lodge (it's not a busy line though!).
We offer trade rate ferry travel with both Wightlink and Red Funnel.
Both lodges offered with Arethusa Cottage Holiday Lodges - 'Monktonmead' and 'Woodside' - can be booked together for families or groups up to 10 people, discounted rate applies.

Sue and Paul’s property is a perfect location for a young family holiday (2 and 4 yo children). The heated swimming pool is the ideal size for little swimmers, and the lodge has everything you need. The garden is kept beautifully and the children enjoyed the fish pond and playing on the decking. It’s ideally located, within a short distance of Fishbourne ferry port, and easy driving distance from everything the island has to offer.
Sue and Paul were also the loveliest hosts. They were communicative, helpful and friendly. We will be coming again!!

We had a great time at Arethusa cottage. Beautiful garden friendly hosts we all enjoyed the pool. Close to attractions, highly recommended!

Setting: Amazing! The garden is so beautiful. We loved Ryde and especially Dell Cafe which is near Puckpool park. Pool: Brilliant and very clean, it’s a really good size and made swimming with 3 kids so easy. Accommodation: The lodge was small but perfectly formed. Immaculately presented with a great bathroom. The kids loved sleeping in the eaves.Hosts: Sue and Paul are so lovely, the perfect hosts!
