Derryguaig is a wonderful holiday apartment ideally set on the waterfront in Tighnabruaich on Argyll's Secret Coast. Boasting stunning views over the Kyles of Bute this charming ground floor holiday home features two spacious bedrooms.

ideal for a small family or two couples looking to relax and enjoy this special region. The location and the views over the Kyles of Bute are a highlight.

The inviting living room is spacious and bright with floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy the spectacular sea views and beyond. Featuring a wood burner for cosy nights and comfortable sofas, a wonderful room to sit back and relax with a glass of wine enjoying the ever-changing views.

The kitchen is modern and very well equipped, complete with breakfast bar, electric cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. From the kitchen there is a a wonderful conservatory overlooking the garden. This is used as the dining room.

Featuring two well appointed bedrooms, a generous Master double bedroom with sea views, and a twin bedroom.

The family bathroom features a luxury bath, a separate shower cubicle, and toilet. There is an additional toilet in the hallway.

With a lovely front garden and exceptional sea views, this is the perfect spot to be. Just a few steps away is the main street of Tighnabruaich where you will find local arts and crafts, cafes and welcoming pubs.

Street parking is available free of charge in front of Derryguaig.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. Maximum two only.

Tighnabruaich is a perfect tranquil holiday spot for sailors, tourists and fishermen alike. Known as one of the most scenic drives in Scotland, a drive along the narrow roads chisled out the hill side offers some of the best great views of the Bute and Arran and beyond.

Bordered by Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute, this is an area of stunning natural beauty, with hills, glens, rugged coastlines, white beaches, clear waters and ancient forests. The whole area is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites.

Another excellent holiday in Derryguaig. The weather was showery to wet and with the humidity the midges were on a mission. Still we had a great holiday. The Tighnabruaich hotel has got pricey and the Gluepot needs a mortgage for a round. No wonder the locals stay clear. The Derryguaig bar in the front garden of an evening when the sun made an occasional appearance, was extra welcome, especially watching the wee ones sailing on Tuesday nights. Thankyou for such a lovely place to stay!

This is the best dog friendly holiday home we have ever rented. It’s well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Area is beautiful and neighbours were very friendly. Hotel serving good food only a short walk away. Was sorry to leave and would definitely like to go back.

Derryguaig is an excellent property, beautifully equipped and in an excellent location. It was beautifully clean and had a Welcome Hamper which was an equally excellent touch. Back garden is enclosed and dog friendly. Have rented with Argyll Self Catering previously and would certainly do so again. We'll be back!

Once again a great stay. Thankyou so much for enabling this. It is such an elderly friendly property and I know my parents both loved it. Despite biblical levels of rain on one day, we got out and about. Even in winter there is lots of places to go and NO midges! We also enjoyed watching the RNLI jetty wobbling madly in the waves. Hoping to return in the early summer (someone has to feed those midges) though, sadly, this will be without mum and dad.

An absolutely lovely place to stay. Right on the shore of the Kyles of Bute. I stayed with a friend and our dogs. The welcome food hamper was a really nice touch with essentials for the first night and morning. The living room is massive and looks over the Kyle’s with Bute over the water. Everything works well and just lots of nice touches you don’t normally get in a self catering let. I highly recommend and hope to return…

Lovely ground floor accommodation in a great location close to lots of local amenities. Lucky enough to have had good weather for most of the week and spent relaxing afternoons in the garden watching activity of the boats and taking in the view while enjoying coffee or a glass of wine before dinner. Very well equiped kitchen with a most welcome basket of goodies. Second time staying at Derryguaig and will definitely be back!

A very relaxed and homley feel to the area and the house.a great little gift on arrival made us feelspecial after our long journey. the only downside was about Tighnabruaich in that it had ammeneties and shopping had seen better days,(could have been covid) made sure i did my research on fuel prices and found a great deal on prices at Cot Services near Dunoon.

The weather was kind to us and we had some nice sunshine which made the views over the Kyles of Bute even better! There was also a lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated especially by our Golden Retriever Riley when she realised there was also treats for her lol Would highly recommend

The flat is equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. We were also greeted with a food basket and fresh flowers. The view of the water and the island of Bute was great. The small village and its inhabitants are lovely and the walks are beautiful. The only drawback: The mattresses were not that comfortable for our standards. All in all, a very nice time.

Lovely few days at Derryguaig, great property for 2 adults, teenager and a dog. House had everything we needed, very well equipped. Really comfy and lovely views out over the Kyles of Bute. Nice Friday night dinner at the Tighnabruaich hotel and fab lunch at The Oystercatcher in Otter Ferry, well worth the trip and lovely swim in the loch after. Visit to Ostel Bay and nice lunch at Botanica in the Barn after and a day trip to Bute. Would highly recommend the house and the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. Everything had been well thought out and the lovely welcome pack was much appreciated. The location is perfect for sightseeing on the secret coast and also travelling across to Bute for the day on the ferry. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would love to return some day.

We have stayed in holiday homes for many years and Derryguaig is one of the most comfortable and well equiped in an amazing location. It was spotlessly clean, bed and bedding comfortable and good quality. Plenty of kitchen crockery and kitchenware, the extras like toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, cleaning aids etc. were most generous. We enjoyed sitting out in the sunny front garden watching the world go by, the boats and the birds. Mustn't forget our morning visitor, a roe deer coming down for breakfast.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Derryguaig and it did not disappoint. This year we even had good weather except the last day, although the down side was that the midges and clegs were out in force. The village was very quiet, even for June but fishing, walking, kayaking, paddle boarding were excellent all week. Missed seeing the Waverley this year though I believe she is back on the Clyde again at the end of the month. Shame the Gluepot and Royal have got so dear these days. Glad the Tinny still keeping the faith.

This was our third stay at the property. It is ideal for my elderly parents with its location close to the village shops and the porch where they could sit and watch comings and goings when the weather was wet or windy. Midges were out in force that week and seem to have developed a taste for smidge too! I now know why so many people used to smoke! We love coming here and seeing family and friends while enjoying Tighnabruaich as always. Hoping to be back again next year.

Could not have wanted more from this property and a relaxing week. We weren’t blessed with good weather but that’s a gamble you take when staycationing. However the comfort we found in the apartment when the a long way to make up for this. Thank you so much for the hamper which was such a lovely surprise ( the bread was especially good ) The view from front window was our entertainment on most evenings changing all the time as the weather changed, we also saw the Tighnabruaich lifeboat go out on one occasion it was reported on the RNLI website as being the third time this year. We had several excellent evening meals at the Portavaidie Marina which is a lovely setting for a relaxed evening. Also the village itself has several place’s to eat which we tried and had excellent meals and service. I have only one thing to mention that could improve the bathroom for someone like me who prefers a bath to a shower that would be a hand rail to aid getting in and out, as I’m sure Im not your only older guest with arthritic knees.

We cannot thank Shirley and Donald enough for their hospitality. The property is such a wonderful place to stay, has everything you need for those cosy nights in (when the Scottish rain descends). The view also makes the property extra special, the location is fabulous for anyone wanting a peaceful setting, whilst overlooking the sea. Although Tignabruaich has a small community, everyone is pleasant and helpful. We have stayed at the property for a period of 4 weeks over the last twelve months-i think that says more than words. Highly recommend!!

The property was very good, very clean, well furnished, equipped and comfortable. The welcome hamper was extremely generous and much appreciated. However, the second bedroom, which would be fine for 2 children , is not at all suitable for 2 adults. We were 2 couples and it was difficult for the couple in bedroom 2. No wardrobe or hanging space at all which when staying for a week, was very unsatisfactory. We did see pictures of the rooms but you cannot tell from a photo. Otherwise the accommodation was really good.

Great holiday in a well appointed property. Perfect for my elderly parents and all the better for the great weather this year, though the Tighnabruaich midges were gnawing through the windows to get at us some days - brought back memories from past summers and all us weans being dumped into a bath with Detol, after feeding the Kyles’ midges. This was our second stay at this property and hope it is only the second of many! Find Iain and the staff at Argyll more than helpful whenever I contact them. Can’t praise them enough.

This is our second stay in a twelve month period, and we have rebooked for October. The property is such a homely place, with everything you need for those nights in beside a log fire. We were gifted with the sun during our stay, so a visit to Otter Ferry and Ostell bay were a must. The villa i believe they call it in bonny Scotland, is very well equipped. The views are spectacular, the village location perfect, with the added bonus of a wonderful tearoom and welcoming local pubs...the local residents were also very helpful. I'm saddened writing this review for two reasons, one we had to return home and two- others will now have the benefit of this wonderful home in a superb location. Highly recommend.

Very spacious and clean. Welcome hamper was an added bonus. Perfect location right on the sea front with terrific views. Could possibly do with some sort of wall or fence in the front garden as there is a big drop onto the road.
