About this house rental
159 Jasmine is a cute cottage located on a quiet street within Lakeside Chautauqua; steps away from the lake and Ohio's Most Beautiful Mile; one block from Central Park, beach and downtown; and 20 min drive to Put-in-Bay ferries.
Its most distinctive feature is a large wrap around porch with a lake view and plenty of seating. The original cottage was built in 1878 and renovated in 2020/21. As part of the renovation, we enclosed the porch and added AC/heat for year-round comfort. Also important is that it has a downstairs bedroom (with king bed) and brand new master ensuite with easy step-in shower. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath with tub. The upstairs front bedroom has a queen bed. The upstairs back bedroom has a queen bed and twin bunk beds. The middle bedroom has a double. Each upstairs bedroom has its own mini-split AC/heat unit. Downstairs is a newly renovated kitchen, dining room, living room and half bathroom. Living room has a queen sofa sleeper. The downstairs has central AC/heat. Laundry room has washer/dryer and food pantry. Tankless heater provides endless hot water.
Children Welcome - pack and play crib in closet. No Pets. No Smoking. Space to park two cars in front of the cottage. Outdoor gas grill. Check-in Time is 4 pm. Check-out Time is 10 am. Please note that you need to bring your own sheets, towels & linens.
FYI, we rent 3 cottages in Lakeside: 140 Jasmine, 159 Jasmine and 644 Walnut.
Finally, PLEASE NOTE that during Chautauqua Season, Lakeside charges daily gate fee per guest and parking fee per car. Gate fees support the Lakeside entertainment program and Staff such as lifeguards at the beach and pool or attendants at shuffleboard, tennis/pickle-ball center. Additionally, there are other policies (such as no open alcohol in public spaces). For more information, please see Lakeside Chautauqua website (lakesideohio.com). During Chautauqua Season, full week rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends available. Reduced rates before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.

I’ve been coming to Lakeside since I was a child. This cottage was lovely with everything we needed for a relaxing stay! It was a short walk to all the best parts of Lakeside. We waited 3 years to finally find an open week at this cottage and it was worth the wait! The hosts were so welcoming and easy to work with!

This beautifully furnished cottage was the perfect retreat for our stay at Lakeside! Just steps away from the serene shores of Lake Erie, the home provided a quiet and relaxing escape. The open and inviting layout made it easy to unwind, and the first-floor master suite—with its attached walk-in shower—added an extra layer of convenience and comfort.Everything about this cottage felt thoughtfully designed, from the cozy furniture to the well-insulated walls that kept outside noise to a minimum, even with construction happening along the street. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring restful nights, and the spacious living areas made it feel like home.Beyond the home itself, the owners were fantastic—responsive and accommodating, always quick to answer any questions we had. This cottage truly exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

We stayed 4 days at this great cottage in Lakeside . Owner was very responsive . The location was fantastic- less than a block off of the lake . Even took a day trip by way of the the Marblehead ferry to bike around Kelly’s island Only downside ( and not a critique of the cottage ) is that we went soon after Labor Day during weekdays and almost everything in Lakeside was closed for the season including restaurants - so we appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment !
