About this cottage rental
When you book our cottage, you automatically have access to the ENTIRE cottage.
The Cottage has the main entrance on the lower floor that has one bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchen (it has a hide-a-bed in the living room that can sleep up to 2). Also, to get to the upper living area there is a separate entrance on the second floor. There is a large open area that has one bathroom, a queen bed, a futon, a desk/office area, flat screen tv, and an upper deck with a small table and chairs.
Secluded, romantic, and relaxing Cambria guest cottage nestled in the Monterey pines of the esteemed Leimert Estates. This guest house sits on a hill above Moonstone Beach just east of Highway 1, which is just a 1-2 minute drive away. The property is privately surrounded by coast live oak and monterey pines, and yet nearby you will find yourself on the boardwalk of moonstone beach, and combing the sand for shells and moonstones.
Wood floors and cozy cabin like Interior will offer all the comforts of home. Large screen TV sits above the mantel over a cozy fireplace, surrounded by leather sleeper sofas. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to cook your favorite meals. The kitchen is equipped with gas range and full stainless steel refrigerator along with granite countertops. There is a covered patio off the back along with a gas grill for you to enjoy the tranquil wildlife that pass by (deer and wild turkey) while listening to the distant waves of the ocean. The comfortable king-size memory foam bed along with premium linens will offer a restful night's sleep.

Beautiful views out every window. Cozy, clean, comfortable. LOVED watching all of the deer and their fawns graze around the property. Easy access to town!!! Quality furnishings and appliances. Tasteful decor!!! Loved it. So peaceful. We hope to stay here again sometime!!!!!

We had a lovely stay up in the pines! The cottage had tons of wildlife around, and was perfect for our group (4 adults). This is one that I would absolutely book again if I find myself in the area! Karl was a great host, and gave all the information we needed. Thank you for the lovely stay!

The location of the home is superb and is like stepping into your own private world. We loved “living in a forest” for a few days and loved how convenient town access and beach access were. Both spaces of the home were spotless and we loved having access to the top unit and main house. We would alternate between sitting on the rear porch, upper balcony or front porch and watch and listen to the wildlife that also call this space home. We had the pleasure of seeing the same momma deer and her fawn every day we were there. Overall, this was a great experience and we look forward to coming back and enjoying this magical place. Cambria has a lot to offer, and this is the perfect location to access it from. You’re a few minutes away while still having total seclusion. If you’re looking for a place to disconnect and reset this is it.

The aesthetics and comfort of the cottage—and its beautiful setting—helped offset the fact that much of the overall stay felt rather underwhelming. The host was not welcoming; while the generic information letter was useful, it lacked any personal touch, and we did not hear from him at all during our stay. I reached out about an ant infestation and did not receive a response until after we had already checked out.The amenities were adequate, but many of the small touches that make a stay more comfortable were missing. It would have been nice to have basic toiletries in the shower, USB outlets, and a functional pullout sofa in the living room. The kitchen had a coffee maker but no filters or coffee, and only salt and pepper were provided—no oil, spray, or other basic cooking staples. Even the ice trays in the freezer were empty.There were also no games, reading material, welcome letter, local recommendations, or phone numbers for nearby services. Overall, while the cottage itself was charming, the lack of thoughtful details and host engagement made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been.
