I like that the hostel has a spacious lobby for guests to have meals and wait there. Water dispenser was provided. Excellent point to note that it has an elevator. Clean bathrooms and bedroom. I was assigned lower bunk bed which I had requested. Bed has curtains to provide privacy to guests. Location is near to eateries nearby. I am glad I chose to stay here.

I will definitely stay at here again if there is a plan to visit Chiayi again in near future.

While the rooms themselves are clean enough, the staff are a bit lax on some cleaning details, like the water dispenser, toilet and shower corners and handles and replenishing the toilet paper. They had locked off all but one shower and one toilet, and left the toilet paper empty from evening until the next afternoon. The whole hostel is basically a big echo chamber in design, amplifying every noise. So if you are unlucky as I was, you get stuck with inconsiderate guests making a lot of noise, and especially in Taiwan.... Snorers. Because the floors and walls are bare, there is nothing to reduce these noises, it only makes them louder, So I had zero sleep both nights. While there isn't much they can do for the design of the building, they should add rugs on the floors and some wall furnishings to reduce the echo effect. The beds are well build, and comfortable to a point, and the bedding is clean. But they need to be bolted to the walls. The guy on the top bunk tossed and turned all night, making it feel like I was trying to sleep through a snoring earthquake. Quite an awful night. "breakfast" should not be considered free breakfast, as its just low quality white bread with a choice of 3 sugary spreads. Not even worth bothering with, when you consider you have to wait for so long to access the tiny kitchenette for the two super slow toaster ovens. There is free instant coffee and tea though. Let us not forget the poor annoying cat that sits next to the open window and meows mournfully all day. I think it's lonely. Or just annoying.
