About this house rental
Enjoy a relaxing getaway along Cottonwood Creek at our fully restored authentic log cabin. The cabin features a fully updated interior with all the modern conveniences while maintaining the rustic charm of the original log home. Beautiful furnishings and detailing throughout the cabin bring the Montana mountain theme to life!
The large outdoor area boarders national forest land and features beautiful canyon views in the summer and stunning snowscapes in the winter. Cottonwood Creek runs directly through the property and can be accessed just across the yard from the cabin. Enjoy time sitting on the log swing and relaxing to the sound of the creek rushing by.
The covered front porch is furnished with a swing, rocking chairs, and a dining table.
The back deck is furnished with table and chairs and a gas grill. The back yard features an outdoor fire pit area with wood provided (use of fire pit is subject to forest service burn restrictions which are often in effect in late summer/fall due to dry conditions.)
The cabin has wireless internet access to keep you connected. A smart tv and DVD player are located in the living room area.
The cabin features a master bedroom/bathroom with king size bed, sitting area, and private deck on the main floor A second bedroom with queen size bed and full bathroom is located on the second floor along with a small kids sleeping area with a single bed.
Full kitchen with Wolf cook top includes all dishware and cooking ware. Dining area table seats 6.. Cozy living room with leather chairs and wood burning fireplace. Full size washer and dryer inside unit in separate laundry room.
Please note that cell phone reception is spotty in the canyon. A landline is provided in the cabin for making local calls. The cabin is located on a gated property. A separate garage building is located next to the cabin with an apartment on the second floor that houses our property caretaker. The garage and the caretaker's apartment above share a driveway with the cabin.
Enjoy your time just relaxing at the cabin or get out and explore all that this beautiful area has to offer:
*Hiking and biking on the Cottonwood Creek trail head just a short walk down the road from the cabin.
*Yellowstone National Park, 83 miles away through the scenic Gallatin Canyon
*Fishing access on the Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone rivers just a short drive away.
*World class skiing at Big Sky Ski Resort 44 miles away, great local skiing at Bridger Bowl just 30 miles away.
*Enjoy nearby hot springs locations including Bozeman Hot Springs, Norris Hot Springs, and Chico Hot Springs.

This cabin was everything we hoped for and more. It was super clean, beautifully maintained, and tucked right in the valley of a mountain, surrounded by rolling hills, open farmland, and scenic views in every direction. A peaceful creek runs through the property, and the large outdoor space made it easy to relax and take it all in. Nights around the fire pit under the stars were unforgettable.The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen had all the essentials and then some—we actually chose to cook in most nights because it was that enjoyable.Mike, the host, was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful.The location couldn’t have been better. We visited Big Sky, Livingston, Yellowstone, and spent a couple of nights in downtown Bozeman. Even with all our exploring, we always looked forward to coming back to the cabin—it truly felt like a private retreat in the heart of Montana.We’re already looking forward to booking this place again. Montana is an incredible place to visit, and this cabin made the experience even more special.Highly recommend—photos don’t come close to capturing how beautiful it is!

My brother, and a long time friend of ours, have been coming to the Gallatin Valley, fishing for the last 26 consecutive years, and although we have stayed in some beautiful places, our stay at the Cottonwood Retreat was above the rest, including some very nice places located right on the Gallatin River. . The place is deceiving from the outside, as the inside is a prefect combination of rustic log home living and modern lavish finishes. The kitchen is spectacular for cooking with a fantastic Wolf 6-burner cooktop and quality cookware, and no matter where you go on the property, be it inside or out, it's an amazing place to relax. The beds and linens were what you might find in a 5-star hotel, and throwing open the windows at night to feel the cool mountain air, combined with the rushing sound of Cottonwood Creek will imbibe one in the best night's sleep. I really can't say enough about this place. The manager, Mike was always available, along with the on-site manager, Andrew, yet neither were there to bother us, but just to serve if we so desired. I've only left the place a little over 24 hours ago and I'm already missing it.Tim Carvour Marysville, Ohio
