It’s hard to write a good review when it was extremely difficult to get the key to the apartment. I eventually located the caretaker by asking at the village supermarket. The apartment was clean and well equipped. You need to understand German to find the laundry. The table and bench tops are a bit battered and there is a crack in the toilet seat. It needs a microwave. They are very efficient when it comes to deducting payment from your credit card.
There were no check in instructions on my confirmation, the app said “someone will meet you at the property”. Nobody met me, there were 16 call buttons at the front door, none had any label for apartment 13.
I climbed the stairs and rang the bell at apartment 13. No answer.
I called the phone number on the booking confirmation. No answer.
I asked the lady across the street who was looking at me suspiciously. Couldn’t speak English.
Eventually I went to the supermarket, arriving just before it closed for the weekend and the kind lady there was able to tell me which of the 16 buttons to press.
I complained. Four days later the property replied to tell me what I had done wrong.
“you could find the caretaker’s number on the booking confirmation” (it wasn’t there)
“you contacted our office but it was closed”
“every information to handle the check in was written in the booking confirmation” (no it wasn’t)
“you were ringing the wrong bell” (&$%#!)
If you still think Corn Alv 13 looks a good place to stay, make sure you get Check In instructions before you arrive. Otherwise just ring all 16 bells or hope that the supermarket is open.
