Located on a hill overlooking Honolulu and the majestic Diamond Head crater, this two bedroom, two and half bath plus bonus sleeping space in Manoa Valley features gorgeous custom touches and a large lanai that’s perfect for a barbecue.
Custom stained glass and teak accents make for a uniquely stylish Old Hawaii-style interior. Hardwood floors lead into cream carpets in the living room, furnished with a love seat and oversize armchair. Additional furnishings include a teak desk and a 30” TV great for movie nights after a day spent wandering nearby Makiki-Manoa Cliffs.
Enjoy your evenings out on the lanai which includes a six-person dining table and a charcoal grill.
Stainless steel appliances and granite counters in the well-appointed kitchen. Original cabinetry showcases throughout, and a working antique phone hangs on the wall. The raised formal dining room features a table for six beneath a classic chandelier. Custom designed stained glass landscapes and seascapes adorn the walls.
This rental has a sitting room with a king-size Hawaiian daybed and a 38” TV. There is also a bedroom with a queen-size bed, 32” TV, and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity, a soaking tub, and a separate walk-in shower.
Another bedroom is perfect for the kids with a twin-over-full bunk set, a 26” TV, and an en-suite bathroom with a pedestal sink and walk-in shower. A convenient half bathroom is available.
This pet-friendly is a Pet friendly home (for an additional fee). Extras include complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, AC throughout the home, and a shared washer/dryer. One parking spot is offered in the driveway. Additional parking may also be available on the street on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Manoa Valley is close to breathtaking hiking trails and countless tasty cafes. Prefer to spend your day relaxing or playing at the beach? Magic Island is just 2.5 miles from your door, and Kaimana Beach is 3 short miles away as well. My sister, nephew and his wife stayed with me at the property. We loved coming home to visit and were quite comfortable. My sis and I grew up in Manoa. I had not been back in almost 20 years and my sis 10. So much has changed! One thing that has remained the same is the people. So many people that we met were above and beyond the basic ‘nice’. We visited the graves of our father, mother, grandmother and grandfather in Nuuanu and Kaneohe. Ate at my favorite local food place Zippy’s and of course laid at the beaches. Amanda was very gracious and our stay will live in our memories forever.

This home really has three private bedrooms plus a daybed in an alcove off the living room where a curtain can be drawn for privacy. There is plenty of room to unpack into closets, built-in cabinetry, and furniture drawers. The retro oven is a kick and functioned well for us. If I’m being nit-picky, the cabinets are quite old, and do take some effort to open and close. We also encountered a minor plumbing leak from the main bathroom. The street on which this house sits is very narrow. Finally, it’s a bit loud at night when the winds are blowing. However, the stained glass, wood flooring/trim, and views off the back deck are phenomenally beautiful. Between that and the spaciousness of this house, I would be happy to return.

While the home is older, it is in a charming way. The lanai and the view it offers is amazing as well! Location is quite but not far from the major spots of Honolulu and Waikiki. Really an all around great airbnb for a group of people! It's very spacious and we never had any problems. Be aware that as it is an older home, doors make noise and windows may be a bit harder to open and close. Also Manoa is very windy and often rains at night (at least in the winter). And, if someone is in the unit below the main house, you'll need to watch noise at certain times. These are just advisories. If you're alright with them then I highly recommend this home! Really the view is extraordinary and I would book this home again just for it and the lanai!
