The Dundee - A Trace Hotel

A lovely place with a nice restaurant to grab a bite or drink.

A big room that’s nicely appointed.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast scones were wonderful. The parking was excellent. The location was in the middle of Dundee close to everything.

The pillows were very uncomfortable. The shower space was barren and cold. The bed was very small, and not like other Trace Hotels I have stayed at. This felt more like a business class hotel. I could not access WIFI and there was no desk clerk after 10pm. I think the interiors need a bit more work before this can be thought of as a boutique hotel. The maid did not speak english and could not address my concerns.

Very clean and modern.

Nothing to dislike. The location isn’t bad.

For $300+ and $400 a night, I did notice that we had one of the smaller rooms. Disappointing. That said, the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable. The sheets and pillows were good. Good windows. Could have had a warmer comforter, but we did get a blanket when asked. Plenty of chairs and tables. Good sized bathroom and shower. It was nice to have a refrigerator.

For $300+ and $400 a night, I would think this hotel would have coffee in the morning. And I'm not talking about plastic coffee. I am not into plastic Keurig pods. Also, the Keurig did not have a pitcher for water. How are people suppose to pour water in the pot? Especially if they have already had a cup of coffee? For a newer hotel, we were very surprised that the coffee cups were all cracked in the bottom. The light in the room was very dull and especially in the bathroom. I could not put on make-up and my husband had a hard time shaving. The light was cave like. No water bottles unless you bought them. Thin walls...heard road noise, water pipe noises and apparently there is a gun club close by. Heard pops all afternoon. Bent down to pick something up and under the credenza, there was a cork, a luggage tag, other paper and a lot of dust. Room 215
