About this cottage rental

The accommodation has been converted from an old barn of a farmhouse in the Tuscan hills and has been renovated (2019) with particular attention to materials and tradition. The house has a private entrance and consists of two floors: the first floor overlooks the manor farmyard and consists of a bedroom with a comfortable double bed and a single bed, two wardrobes and a bathroom with a large shower and a window overlooking the hills. The stairs lead to the ground floor where the modern fully equipped kitchen is, equipped with an induction hob, kettle and coffee machine, the living room with a comfortable double sofa bed and a 55 "flat screen TV, the dining area with access to the external area. The exterior consists of a relaxation area, a large garden, a beautiful terrace with a dining area and a barbecue. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer. All outdoor areas have a splendid view of the Tuscan hills and neighboring countries. The premises are equipped with air conditioning, heating and mosquito nets. Private parking inside the property.

It was great to be in the free standing house and beautiful garden of Silvia and Guliano. These hosts are very kindly and make you feel welcome. All is compleet and proper. The terraces are on different places in the garden and from there is a nice view around

This property and the hosts are wonderful! The home is beautifully updated and comfortable with everything you need for cooking. The outdoor spaces are also wonderful and very comfortable. The view from the large patio is spectacular! Silvia and her husband were very gracious & accommodating hosts, they brought us a beautiful bottle of local red wine and some cookies to enjoy. The washer and dryer were a real bonus. The town of Vinci is really pretty and nice. Take in the Leonardo da Vinci museum, it's really interesting. It is very easy to explore other towns (by car). We would stay here again and would recommend this property for anyone visiting Tuscany- the hosts and the property are gems!

Im Juni verbrachten wir 10 Tage in der Villa Vestra, einer vor einigen Jahren umgebauten Scheune, in der sich alte und moderne Elemente wunderbar zusammen fügen. Jede Etage ist mit einer Klimanalage ausgestattet und alle Fenster mit Moskitonetzen versehen. Das Haus ist modern und gut eingerichtet, alle Bereiche sind gepflegt und sehr sauber. Für einen entspannten Urlaub ist alles vorhanden und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Ein wahres Highlight ist sicherlich der Außenbereich des Hauses, wo man sowohl sonnige als auch schattige Plätze findet und den atemberaubenden Blick über die toskanische Landschaft genießen kann. Nach langen Tagesausflügen haben wir die Entspannung auf der Terrasse und Freisitz sehr genossen. Silvia und Giuliano sind überaus herzliche und aufmerksame Vermieter. Sie stehen den Gästen, wenn gewünscht, mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Wir mochten unsere kleinen Gespräche im Italienisch / Englisch Mix sehr. Mitten in den Olivenhainen gelegen, ist dieses wunderbar sanierte Häuschen bestens geeignet für zwei Personen. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und die Aussicht ist super! Es gibt zwei schöne geräumige Sitzmöglichkeiten im Freien. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Die Bewertung "Auf den Spuren von Leonardo" beschreibt die Unterkunft sehr gut. Zusätzlich zur überdachten Sitzecke direkt am Haus gibt es jetzt noch eine zweite etwa 20 Meter entfernt, ebenfalls überdacht mit einer Sitzgruppe. Von dort hat man einen tollen Blick über das Tal Richtung Empoli. Der hohe Schrank rechts in der Küchenzeile ist eine Kühl- und Gefrierkombination mit viel Platz zum Kühlen und zum Einfrieren. Uns fiel auf, dass der Kompressor auch auf ganz niedriger Stufe sehr viel läuft und dann relativ laut ist. Der Geschirrspüler ist etwas schmaler als üblich, aber im Verhältnis zum verfügbaren Geschirr ausreichend. Die Küche ist insgesamt sehr gut mit Töpfen, Geschirr und sonstigen Utensilien ausgestattet, passend für bis zu fünf Personen. Dabei sind alle Schubladen und Fächer belegt, für Lebensmittel bleibt kaum noch Platz, außer im Kühlschrank. Draußen bei der Sitzgruppe gibt es einen ordentlichen Grill, sehr sauber mit Gussrost und Haube. Wir hatten diesen zweimal benutzt und uns das Gegrillte beim herrlichen Blick über das Tal schmecken lassen. Wir hatten die Unterkunft zu zweit gemietet und dadurch viel Platz, oben im Schlafraum können drei Personen schlafen, im Doppelbett und im zusätzlichen Einzelbett. Zwei weitere Personen finden unten im Wohnraum auf dem Schlafsofa Platz. Dann dürfte es aber insgesamt recht eng werden, vor allem, wenn das Wetter für einen Aufenthalt draußen zu schlecht ist. Beide Räume sind mit einer eigenen Klimaanlage ausgestattet, die bei Bedarf auch als Heizung genutzt werden kann. Wir haben den Aufenthalt in der Villa Vestra sehr genossen.

This is a charming getaway spot. It has wonderful spaces outside to lounge and enjoy the idyllic scenery, overlooking the mountainsides. Everything inside is tastefully decorated. The hosts were lovely and helpful. We had a refreshing break from city life. It exceeded our expectations. This will be one of our fondest memories of Italy.

Wir haben zu zweit zwei Wochen in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus verbracht. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen, Lage & Blick sind traumhaft und ruhig. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Ausflüge nach Florenz, Siena, Pisa, Lucca etc. sind gut möglich, aber auch einfach Erholung & Lesen vor Ort. Die Villa Vestra liegt an einem längeren Sträßlein, das in Halbhöhenlage an den Ausläufern des Monte Albano oberhalb von Empoli und Vinci dem Arnotal entlangführt und an dem mehrere Sommersitze gelegen sind. Im Haupthaus wohnt der Eigentümer, die designbewußt und auf hohem technischen Niveau umgebaute Scheune wird an Gäste vermietet. Bei der Einrichtung wurde an jedes Detail und jede Eventualität gedacht; überall sind Netze gegen Mücken angebracht. Ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen ist nur 300 Meter entfernt, Obst und Gemüse sind dort besser als im Supermarkt, besonders empfehlenswert ist an jedem Morgen die frische Focaccia. Sehr attraktiv ist auch die Außenanlage mit mehreren Terrassen, eine weit vorgelagert über den Abhängen, wo man zum Beispiel nach Sonnenuntergang das »Erwachen« tausender Lichter im betriebsamen Tal erleben kann. Imposant wirkt jenseits des Tales der gewaltige Monte Pisano. Das Gastgeberpaar ist äußerst hilfsbereit. Mit Englisch ist einem nicht geholfen, aber ein paar Brocken Italienisch genügen schon, um die Konversation in Gang zu halten und das Wesentliche zu klären. Nur anderthalb Kilometer entfernt liegt an besagtem Sträßlein auch das Geburtshaus von Leonardo da Vinci. Sehr schön erreicht man das sehenswerte Pistoia auf kurvenreichen Straßen über den Monte Albano hinweg. Pisa und Lucca sind nicht allzu weit. Der größte Magnet ist indes Florenz, am besten zu erreichen per Zug in einer knappen halben Stunde von Empoli aus, dessen Bahnhof gute zehn Kilometer von der Villa Vestra entfernt liegt (in den Straßen um den Bahnhof gibt es zahlreiche Parkplätze, aber Vorsicht, nicht an allen kann man einen Parkschein für den ganzen Tag erwerben). Das landschaftlich Schönste ist aber vielleicht die Fahrt nach Volterra über Ortimino (Beschilderung nach Montespertoli), Castelfiorentino, Gambassi und Castagno. Jürgen und Marta
