Haghpat Hotel

The owners are really friendly and go out of their way to help. I contacted them in advance and they organised me a driver to visit the monasteries at a good price. Food is also good.

Best location! It is literally situated next to the monastery — you can reach it within 40 seconds from your room. There is a restaurant attached beneath the hotel, so you don’t need to look for other places to dine in the evening after enjoying the solemn, archaic, relaxing atmosphere of Haghpat. The staff are very kind and generous, and pay great attention to their guests. We arrived a bit earlier than the check‑in time, and they offered us Armenian coffee and Armenian cake, both of which were delicious. The taxi driver they arranged for our long‑distance trip the next morning was the best driver we met during our stay in Armenia: talkative, very polite and friendly, with reliable, peaceful, and exceptionally smooth driving skills. Shat shnorhakalutyun!

Since the hotel is located directly next to the parking area of the monastery, vehicle noise and people’s conversations can be heard through the window. However, this only happens during the daytime. In the evening and early morning, it is completely quiet — just like in a typical Armenian village.

El personal fue muy agradable, como bien se ve, es un hotel familiar y hacen lo posible para que te sientas como en casa. La habitacion tiene todas las facilidades, aire acondicionado, entretenimiento en la television, etc. Esta justo al lado del monasterio, con lo que la ubicacion no puede ser mejor

Al estar al lado de un monumento en un entorno de pocos vecinos, en ocasiones se escucha ruido fuera, coches haciendo ruido, etc, logicamente, pero lo normal y nada que tenga que ver con el alojamiento.

Great location near the monastery and views over the gorge. The hotel is a bit simple but that is well and truly compensated by the hospitality of the English speaking host.
