Comfortable modernised rooms, great peaceful location

Nothing. It would be preferable to have freshly made coffee for breakfast with maybe a wider choice of breakfast items, but it was adequate. Maybe because we were the only people staying overnight and at breakfast there was more limited choice. The restaurant is closed Monday Tuesday, so you have to find somewhere else to eat in the evening. We somehow missed that information when booking the rooms, so after a long drive it was a shame we could not eat downstairs or on the beautiful terrace.

The room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious (the house speciality is venison) and we were made to feel welcome. The terrace area outside had a lovely view of the mountains and countryside and it was very pleasant to sit there in the sunshine at the end of a long drive with a drink. The next morning we saw a large herd of deer come right next to the hotel which was lovely. Breakfast was typical German continental fare. A very pretty hotel

Be prepared, there is not much English spoken here. There was no menu in English so it was a bit of a gamble when eating in the restaurant but google translate worked well! The hotel was about 15 mins from the motorway and would have been easy to miss the turning for it in the dark. Booking.com describes the room as ‘with a mountain view’ - the room window is quite small and you can see a bit of the mountain from it but don’t expect a panoramic view.

Lovely owners, family-run hotel with excellent and professional service. Superb views over the hills and the river valley, from the terrace and the nicely furbished rooms. We will return, the nice as well as elegant country-side atmosphere and phantastic food were too good! Hiking trails directly from the hotel, which is surrounded by forests. Despite high temperatures duing the day, the night was nice and cooler so that we slept like babies.
