Great location in a quiet area
Not many restaurants around, and many closed.

The location was great. Close to the Higashi Chaya historical district. The interior was very nice and gave a feeling of being in a traditional Japanese home with the added comforts of air con and induction stoves. The district was super quiet and private. The staff was quick to replace a faulty microwave while we were out the next day.
It's a bit far grom from the Kanazawa station (taxi was about 1300 yen). We were there in late March and it was quite cold inside the house. We had to run the AC and the space heater in the bathroom non stop if we were home. Communication with the staff was also a bit choppy. We wanted to check in early to put our daughter down for a nap at 13:30, but we're refused because "cleaning might still be ongoing". Ended up waiting outside the apartment for over an hour before I heard back from them saying that it's empty and I can self-check in.

The location was perfect for exploring the Tea District, Castle grounds, Kenrokuen garden, samurai village and the market. The city is compact so we were able to walk everywhere. Lovely izakaya nearby too. The house is a refurbished Japanese house and gives a lovely experience. There is tatami flooring and a Japanese wet room bathroom. The stairs are very, very steep (traditional) but are part of the charm. 2 raised single beds and 2 futon. The area is a quiet local neighbourhood so it was very peaceful.The carparking is less than 50m away, however all roads in the area are very narrow - parking and driving can be tricky.
The house was not as clean as we would have liked (hair in a few locations on the floor) and the bedrooms smelled like someone had recently been sleeping in them. Airing out the house before new guests would go a long way. We ended up leaving the upstairs windows open the whole time to clear the air.
The lounge are could have done with extra cushions, beanbags or lounge chairs - there is not enough space for 3 adults to relax on the couch.
