Mountain Retreat in Center of City, Spectacular View

My wife and I just returned from our 2nd annual, 4-week stay at Paige and Calvin's home in Palm Desert, and if this isn't the best rental location in the valley, what is? The El Paseo restaurants and shops are two minutes away. Two minutes further and you're at the McCallum Theatre, where a wide range of world-class performers await. We went to three performances on this trip and loved them all. In the opposite direction, 5 minutes up the road takes you into the San Jacinto National Monument. Bighorn Sheep, desert wildflowers, endless interesting hiking through beautiful desert landscapes. All of this at your fingertips while staying in a comfortable home, with a lovely, private yard and views over the valley. Paige and Calvin live just up the road if you need anything. And I'd be wrong not to mention the homemade ice cream and homemade brownies waiting for you.

We stayed at Paige and Calvin's house in Palm Desert, in March, 2024. Of the many lovely places we've stayed in the Coachella Valley over the years, this was the nicest. And as cliched as it sounds, Paige is the consummate host. In touch ahead of time to make sure she had the kind of coffee we like? Check. Homemade ice cream, brownies, and fresh-squeezed juice on arrival? Check. Available if you lock yourself out of the house? Check. We came to the valley for tennis, hiking, and cultural events. Paige and Calvin's place is perfectly located for all of this and just up the road from Whole Foods and the El Paseo shops and restaurants in Palm Desert, five minutes from the McCallum Theatre, an easy drive to Indian Canyons and Tahquitz Canyon. And if you just want to walk out the door and go for a walk in the morning or evening, the house sits on 5 acres which border a public park with hiking trails. We loved the backyard, with the citrus trees, numerous avian guests, and garden for relaxing with a book or visiting with a friend. We can't wait to return next year!

Just as Described, great quiet private retreat just blocks from Hwy 74. Pup friendly next door to dog park. Owners are very accommodating and respect visitors privacy, they are very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. Paige provides nearly every small appliance imaginable. Property was clean, well stocked, washer and dryer were great. Excellent stay. Hope to visit again.

I loved the remote, yet so close to everything location! The space was very charming and ambience was just my vibe. Being close to the hiking trails and off leash dog walking area was perfect for my pup and I. Paige and Calvin were very attentive to all my needs. Weather was just about perfect.
